The work experience I have gained has assisted in my growth; however my current position is limited. I have reached a point where I would like to expand and continue to grow in my retail experience. A typical day includes following up production with suppliers and the MRP shipping department to ensure on time delivery. A typical week/month includes working on development samples from trend/overseas buys/samples for the next season(s) Negotiating cost prices with suppliers Working on QR with local suppliers Supplier meetings as well as local factory visits

I have learnt how to maximize sales, optimize stock and how to mitigate risk.

I have learnt how to maximize sales, optimize stock and how to mitigate risk. In doing Current Trade every Monday morning, I see which stock to chase, which stock to push back and I ensure that stock ageing is not too high. Working with a team is one of the best advantages of working in such a fast paced industry, it helps me to see things in different angles.

I have learned a lot beyond my job capacity.

I enjoy the administration and auditing side of this as this was what I assisted my area manager with. It was challenging doing all this while also having the responsibility of my very own store I had to manage. I do receive a great deal of support from my area manager as well as regional manager with regards to managing and working with such a work load.

Pros: I am exposed to and have gained experience in more than what every other store manager has.
Cons: It is a huge work load and requires a lot of work hours out side of business hours.
