Contract position

Contract position I am a financial accountant in this position I learnt a lot more of the operational side of the organization which improved my skill set to report financially and have a broader aspect of what finance consists of.

Pros: I can work with various types of people with different skill set, there is more to finance than IFRS and tax, learnt to do budgeting adhoc reporting, reporting to a fund
Cons: Contract position, limiting growth, limited learning

Stepping stone

I have had the great pleasure of working for the Moolman Group - a company who values their employees. I was blessed to be offered the position, as I had no financial experience before. I have learnt a lot during the past 15 months about basic financial principles. However I do not feel that I am gaining adequate experience in my current position, and feel like it is time to spread my wings a bit. The greatest challenge to me are the strict deadlines, but I have learned a lot about time management and always manage to get the work done timeously, even if it means having to put in a couple of extra hours - I am highly committed and dedicated.
