A learning experience in a different angle

I have gained a lot of experience by being hands on and mentoring myself. It exposed me to managerial duties that will help me as I grow. the most challenging part is that mostly in the mining industry they train people for a specific job so finding myself in a lab that no one understands the basics of chemistry better yet the language of Chemistry is not easy at all. Luckily I am given an opportunity to expose the analyst to such knowledge especially the quality side as i was a Quality technician, it becomes a challenge when i have to do so to my supervisor and my manager as I am on the lowest level. I therefore I accepted my situation and told myself I am just gaining more experience. I am working on a project to revamp the lab, bringing different suppliers, developing methods and SOPs for the lab. We have a good relationship with my co-workers I can get away with with a lot of things because i am the only woman in the lab.

Pros: acting on managers positions
Cons: working long hours and being underpaid

It is good in terms of experience

It is small company that i have gain more experience because it has an old system that still need a rewiring or upgrade and especially when working on a Dc furnace such as experiencing rectifiers and ore drier,laddle burners

Pros: No chance to get promotion
Cons: 14 hours
