Effective engagement with people

My day mostly is about engaging various levels of staff from ground level staff up to executive level. This is due to the nature of my role in having to facilitate outcomes required by the client and face to face engagements is most effective in this environment. At times I am required to mentor and coach various level of staff and leaders during my interaction with staff and co-workers. This takes me away from my desk for about 50% of my time which is one of my highlights that allows interaction with people in general especially when it leads to coaching and mentoring - I enjoy this part of my role. I've build good relationships with my co-workers which has increased my influencing abilities. I've also learnt that maintaining these relationships and having respective for your peers goes a long way. I enjoy the parts when engaging with clients through various medias like email, face-to-face and telephonic.

Pros: Flexitime
Cons: Expectations aren't managed and thereby work demand could become unrealistic

Training Changes Lives

When a learner enters the class, eager and yearning for learning; he or she is like a plant waiting to be watered. I live this moment daily in my life, where I see lives changed by the interventions. I work in a team that is fun and open; we have a birthday club and share recipes when one discovers something delicious. We talk about our kids and I have learnt that being a father is a process and not an event. I enjoy our culture and ethics. The most challenging aspect of being a trainer is when you see the look of confusion on the learner's face, when you think you have given your best. But you just have to do it again, until clear skies show.

Pros: I get to know about every sector in our business because I have to know for all our new staff.
Cons: Training never stops.

Working in the claims department

My day at work starts 6:30...most of our department work flexi hours. A full work day 7.30 hours. I come in switch my Pc on go through the work to see if there's anything urgent, if not i get up and make myself coffee. Our work coordinator comes in around 7H00 and distributes work. She'll give me a list of what i need to do for the day. I work with alot of older ladies. I am the youngest in our department. Not very fun but they give good advice. I enjoy when the talk about food and share recipes. Our work is very staightforward most of the time but when the work is alot things get abit hectic. I enjoy working under pressure as i thats is when i give outstanding output. They are still trying to figuer out processes since our cleint journey started alomost 2 years ago.

Pros: Working flexi time.
Cons: No opportunity for growth
