Excellent learning curve

Mintek is a research and development company, i work 8 hours a day. shift work is conducted during plant run. my relationship with my co-workers is good. i have learn so much that before the metallurgical plant they are some test work that is being conducted in-order to design the plant and to improve the recovery of the plant. i enjoy being involve in a project of some kind. the challenge that i have was on the crush plant cause i didn't know how to operate it but now i'm good

DEDICATED, WILLING, ORAGNISED

I am an honest, motivated, responsible, creative and organized person. Further to this, I am able to work in a group and attain objectives through a committee work. I have the ability to structure my own work in attaining objectives and meeting deadlines. Amongst other attributes I have the ability to learn technology easily e.g. computer programs. I am also a fast learner and willing to learn new things at all times

Good environment that taught me a lot that i know now.

Great place for people eager to learn, including funding for gaining a qualification, there are a lot of benefits for wellness and health matters, with an internal primary and occupational clinic, lots of sports centres and bar.

I am currently working as a SHEQ officer for MINTEK Hydrometallurgy division for total of 8years and which 4 years I worked as a laboratory technologist. In addition to my bachelor degree in chemistry, I also have root cause analysis, risk assessment, incident investigation, integrated SHEQ auditing, ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO 17025, OHSAS 18000, Safety management, Total Quality management and currently busy with SAMTRAC. All the knowledge and experience I have acquired in the last four years as SHEQ personnel, makes me a suitable candidate for your company. Other acquired skills include communication, both written and verbal, report writing, problem solving, presentation, project management, computer, interpersonal and supervisory skill. Specialist in SAP MM and Warehousing

I am very competent Warehouse Supervisor running Goods Receiving and Warehouse. I am totally independent reporting to the Supply Chain Manager and Finance Manager. I pay attention to details and I am result orientated. I improved the system, write new SOP's, uplift service level by drilling my inventory KPI's as to achieve best service for my clients. I am a Head for Campus Support Service

I work 8:30 to 5:00 week days My colleagues or employees are my clients as my division provide support services I enjoy the homely environment that the company provides to its employees

Pros: The company is user friendly when it come to development and training. They have an open door policy from lower level to excecutives.
Cons: The organisation is a science and technology institution which provide challengins yet interesting events.

A good way of learning about people and new skills.

I am an energetic person who is for people and forever ready to face a challenge .On my day to day work i help user with any problems they are facing on a computer no matter is internet based or the setting up of the computer to make sure that the user can do their jobs.I have a good relationship as i am for people ,i make sure that they get the help they need within shot time for ever looking forward to go interact with users.I have learned that everyone is unique and the treatment wont be the same as long as we can find a common ground so that we can work together and that doing what you love will make you more productive than ever.Helping people makes me feel good and happy that i can also contribute in making a success of the organisation.Having to deal with the user that doesn't understand that you are also doing your job and you work with priorities to get everything done.They have to understand that they cant just expect you to attend them immediately unless you dont have anything to do.

Its more like a learning institution

working at Mintek is more like a learning road to be more responsible in your duties, workload in terms of being a leader and a team player at the same time. working with diverse people, cultures and traditions is the most beautiful aspect of the company that I'm working for I enjoy (and travelling). as individuals we have personal preferences in the work space, in terms of who to be friends with and so forth, but what I like about my co-workers is that we work hard and mean business to create a healthy environment for ourselves. the most challenging aspect is looking for funds for our beneficiaries, working onsite without seeing your family for about a month or so, incubating our beneficiaries especially those that stays in rural areas far from us and also when it come to manufacturing products in big quantities.

Excellent learning curve, opportunity to run and manage projects, Team work

Mintek is a research institute and most of the engineers spend time researching on numerous number of projects. As an engineer one of the requirement is to be a Chief investigator whereby you become fully responsible for the planning, managing and running the the project to completion and making sure the objectives are met with the allocated budget for the budget. Basically you acquire project management skills and report writing writing skills as you need to report back to management quarterly and present your progress and challenges faced. So typically and engineer at Mintek works in the lab and in the office, either writing reports or running laboratory tests.

Cons: Not achieving project objectives
