Excellent learning curve

my company is about forming car components, and i am the buyer for consumables. i started working here in 2015 march, started at the bottom and got promoted in 6 months due to my abilities and determination. i have good relations with my colleagues and we work quite well together. i have learned quite a lot. first and foremost i didn't do purchasing but was given the opportunity to be a buyer for the company but only on the consumables site since i was still new in this field. am enjoying it so far. the interaction of different individuals. the most challenging aspect of this job is venturing for new supplier including all the perks that comes with the hustle.

Pros: great opportunity for promotion
Cons: long working hours

More experience and skills

I have been working closely with a quality specialist, he taught me a lot about quality. my working days at work was enjoyable because i was always learning new things everyday, but someday where hectic especially when we had a customer complain because we had to do a containment and make sure all the parts are well. my relationship with my co-workers was nicely because we had to share ideas even though we had to agree and disagree on somethings. i enjoyed working on the line mostly because i had to interact with the employees on the shop floor, especially the scrap meetings because it was all the department on the meeting.

Pros: Opportunity for promotion and working in different departments
Cons: Long working hours

Excellent learning curve

i would take it as a learning curve, i believe all companies have their cultures working at Metalsa is interesting. I've learned to work with different individual with different beliefs and cultures. i have a good relationship with my colleagues its quite interesting how working in purchasing made me have a clearer understanding of how it all start with regards the weight it has. how purchase orders are linked to invoices. the most challenging aspect of the Job is engineering changes that we have to go out of our way in finding suppliers that would best do the job.

Pros: no opportunities
Cons: long working hours
