Excellent learning curve

Firstly I have say working as a safety officer has to be one of the best Jobs ever. The fact that you protect people and their wellbeing does it for me, I won't lie and say it's all willy nilly I do have those bad days when the employees do not want to comply or the contractor tries to save at the expense of the employees but the situation will be sorted out, so what I am saying is being a safety officer is awesome and I wouldn't change my career for any other.

Day to day life as a safety officer

The day to day work of a safety officer are unpredictable I have to say, it might seem that there is not a lot to do because we just have to take care of the safety file attend meetings and attend to the needs and safety of all employees but honestly we have the entire company at our shoulders, how so? If a person has an injury the production slows down n it is a lose to the company where is if we do our jobs correctly non of that would happen and that's what I enjoy most in being in safety taking care of the needs of others

Pros: Great learning curve
Cons: Working on weekends :-(
