Great environment to grow

My current job is basically continuous improvement focusing on the people, improving the people for productivity.I was appointed as a MDI Coach. Management for Daily Improvement (MDI), This position includes: Induction of new employees on GMP, Health and Safety, Company Code of Conduct. Conduct On job coaching for Process Operators, Weighbridge Clerks, Team Leaders and Shift Managers. Ensure that Visual Management is adhered to (Updating and presenting of SQDC Boards by Process Operators). Ensure Process Operators update the relevant documents and file them properly( Documents includes, CCP, Pre-Start documents, Glass Breakage Procedure, Equipment’s Check sheets, all relevant traceability documents). Ensure the plant pass audits as required through extensive coaching and training of all relevant stake holders within the organization. Developing of standard work procedures. Implementing problem solving programs such as 5WH

Pros: Great learning and development environment
Cons: Seasonal industry since we process vegetables that come from the farm seasonally

Good place to start your career at

I have a good relationship with my co-workers, however Management does not integrate with the staff. There is a gross lack of communication between departments. The most challenging part of the job was not being informed of new products , competitions, promotions etc. and being in the Call Centre and faced with a customer query and not having any information often looked incompetent as we would not know what to advise the customer.

Pros: It is a large International company
Cons: There was no room for growth or promotion

Excellent learning curve

Great international Company

One is always learning, one is always given the opportunity to grow and develop. and always given recognition and appreciation of work efforts. Currently, I am looking to develop and build on my technical skills in a suitable role. I am also keen on developing business acumen and management skills. I am looking for a role that will give me more authority, challenge and professional growth. This of course, in a company with a good culture that also cares for its people.

I received the most accolades from senior managers, my performance and dedication to my job is recognized by internal and external customers. I enjoy solving complex problems that arise, providing solution and delivering on my KPI's. Dealing with volatile products and ever changing volatile markets

Everyday i a learning curve

I am focused, goal driven, passionate and ambitious individual with SAPICS qualification. I have a solid commitment to my career plan, I am self assured and confident in my abilities and I am driven by challenges as every challenge creates opportunity and is a stepping stone to achieving greater than what is thought to be possible. Ready for a new adventure

I have worked in a high pressure environment with come start change and need to drive relevance and growth in a highly commoditized category. During my 5.5 years working at McCain I have learnt how to be a better strategist, focus on digital marketing and social media opportunities to leverage the brand, have developed strong communication plans and executions and managed a complex busy portfolio and p&l. I truly believe that I could be an asset to any busy that has a family orientated high performance culture and I am currently looking for a more motivation category to work in with a structured team requirement. I am most certainly a team player and work best with team member who work hard and play hard.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE RELEVANT TO POSITION APPLYING FOR: My current role in the business requires good leadership, communication, analytical, innovative, problem-solving, attention to detail, decision making and report writing skills. In this role, I am responsible for the daily operation of the cold stores, and manage 11 subordinates. My duties include daily cold store inspections to ensure 5S standards are maintained and all HACCP, GMP and safety standards adherence. Ensuring effective and efficient operation of the department by safeguarding accuracy of supply to internal customers and attending to any arising issues pertaining the departments operations and personnel. Assisting with customer complaints investigations and managing/leading projects as and when delegated by senior management.

Excellent learning curve for a good 9 years

My typical day starts of by attending Safety talks in that are presented by my SHE rep team as I have wanted them to be more involved . Thereafter we have the morning meeting which is reviews the previous days activities if there have been incidents as well as opportunities . we then walk the lines and identify any gaps . . I ensure there is engineering controls are working if not I create notifications on SAP, I also ensure engineering is fixing items not working or needing modification, Coaching with to the work force sometimes with resistance especially from management but showing that we will be liable if we fail to Ensuring we have permits and licences relevant in the Safety health and environmental area , ensuring compliance of the permits e.g. flammable permit, borehole licence , waste water permit , hazardous waste handling permits .Also having to submit the COID and ensure injured people get the care they are supposed to .

Pros: Have been promoted 4 types in at McCain and it has been a great oppotunity
Cons: I am work driven and i find myself coming into work Sundays to ensure all is working accordingly, although it tens to have a toil on my daughter not having mummy home . driving long distances once in a while will also has its cons although i love the road .

The graduate programme at McCain Foods was challenging and rewarding.

A typical day at work usually involves completing any mechanical drawings required by the engineering manager or superintendents. At times i usually assist artisans during their daily maintenance tasks. I have a good understanding with my co-workers and I am very respectful of their positions in the company. One of my key learnings at McCain Foods, was being able to produce mechanical drawings for manufacturing using AutoCAD 2019. During the programme, I really enjoyed the coaching sessions with the powerhouse consultant. In these sessions, invaluable techniques were taught. The most challenging aspect of the job was during the modification of a very critical section of the sweetcorn line, during the programme I had to be responsible for the installation of a new pump and trough. The modification was successful and increased yield.
