Learning Curve

Good working environment with averagely friendly people. A typical day starting from 7 am to 4 pm with a few challenges of typically undecided senior management resulting to very little work during the day but typically too much pressure at the end of the day. Poor communication skills between the management and the employees. Too much feminism between the management staff and the other employees. Despite all challenges, have learnt a lot of administration work i.e. making payment requisitions, purchase requisitions, monthly project expenses report, project programming and planning, resource leveling and allocation.

Good introduction to construction

My work includes doing bits and pieces of everything everywhere for everybody, making sure work is carried out and the necessary tools or equipment are available to get the job done. I liaise with technical advisors and client on the approval of all our designs and document each and every review until approval stages. Team is awesome we all work well together it makes my work easier and fulfilling to assist them. Challenging aspects are sometimes the availability of transport as I need to be attending meetings, get signatures from client and technical advisors whom all are scattered around Cape town. I have learned a lot as I come from a banking background and all this was new to me but I love it.

Pros: Great as a stepping stone into the industry
Cons: No increases nor benefits

New challenges

i am on a contract period so for the last 8 months every month we have to sign letters of notice , so there is no job security co-workers and i get along to a point , challenges of the job is people not returning tools after the work day is over

Cons: long weekend hours with no off days some months

Excellent learning curve

This is a great opportunity for me to learn new things like I am doing payroll which is something I like doing and I want to see myself grow in this department. I like to serve people.

Excellent

When I first started at this company I was so excited. Coming from corporate sector it was a challenge. I have learned so much. It definitely was and is a good learning curve for me. I apply things learned on the job to fixing little things in my house which amaze me in a positive way. Not only did I learn a new section of the economy but but DIY. It is very empowering. It makes me reddy for more challenges.
