I would call clients that had made arrangements for payment but failed to adhere to the arrangement to understand what happened. I would then call other existing clients to make payments arrangements. I made it a priority to call or send emails to thank all my clients that made payment. We were more of a team than individuals we always worked together to get clients to pay especially clients giving us problems. I have learnt to be calm and adapt to different personalities as some clients would be rude but you had to stay calm throughout. I enjoyed communicating with clients and learning about different personalities and that when I work with people try and be a team player at all times. Was when I made an arrangement with a client for payment and they don’t make the payment and I call them to find out what happened and they don’t take my calls anymore.

Excellent learning curve

A typical working day at Makanda Finance requires you to follow up on your clients who you made arrangements with who did not honor as me being the legal consultant have to analyse their account statement and start sending final demand letters. As per section 129 if no response then I start listing those clients on the credit bureaus for default. I correspond with our outsourced debit collection agency on many queries I might or they might have.
