LTM Energy Reviews

Growing talent within energy that is a excellent negotiator and always protects the company

I love meeting new people and my current position allows me to source and identify the best suppliers for the company, doing a proper due diligence and site visits for me is key. We support local suppliers and at the same time create jobs in South Africa, we contribute 2.5% of our revenue to CSI projects and for the company this is always a good to share our success with others. I have learnt allow since joining the company, as my previous industry was telecommunications, energy for me at the moment in SA is where telecommunications was in the late 90's early 2000's. That being said being Head of Procurement is a very challenging position as i need to ensure i protect the company from all risk, contract management is key aswell as proper supplier management. My CIPS helps me with this aspect of my job.

Pros: I am still young and passionate and i have allot to offer a company out there willing to give me the opportunity, i am a goal getter and think out the box.
Cons: Working for a SME you dont have the luxury of working a 9 to 5 job, so i often find myself working evenings and weekends

Growing talent within energy that is a excellent negotiator and always protects the company.

To whom it may concern, I am a 37 year old male with over 17 years of experience in one of the fastest growing markets worldwide, i have had the privilege to experience on a first hand basis the rise of what has become a telecommunications giant in the world today. I have been instrumental in implementing Oracle ERP projects namely E-sourcing, contract management, catalogue management, rever e-auction but to name a few. I have also been the super user on Oracle ERP for many years. The last year i have been heading up the Procurement and Commercial department of a Energy Company specializing in Solar and Energy Efficiency Solutions. I have been involved in the biggest Solar Car port PV project in SA. I am currently completing my CIPS and i feel this will set me apart from the other candidates.

Pros: Great Learning in a very unique niche market, thats growing very very quickly worldwide
Cons: No room for growth

water, sanitation, roads and stormwater. This includes design, masterplanning, contract management, business building and project management. I have ventured into a new market which I am very passionate about: Sustainability in water and energy. My current most challenging aspect is the fact that as the Manager for Water Division, I am responsible for the all round business dealings as there is no other personnel support at this stage. As a Portuguese blooded individual, I enjoy building relationships with people, from decision makers to operators.

Pros: Travel into Africa acquiring new business and sharing ideas with top decision makers.
Cons: The state of economy is threatening businesses

Exposure to a new industry

LTM Energy is a 4 year old company that has managed to secure itself major projects within the SA market, specifically in the field of renewables. I have been lucky enough to assist in putting various policies and procedures in place, this has helped me learn and also cement my thinking of always knowing procurement and supply chain is what i enjoy and want to do. The most challenging aspect for me is getting people to change the way they think especially in a world where change is so fast.

Pros: Opportunity to learn about a fast moving industry
Cons: To opportunity for growth, perks

Putting Policies in place that never had a Procurement Process or Policy in place before

Fast paced industry, energy in SA is where telecommunications was in the late 90's. Every day its changing, i love the challenge and love learning new things. Keeps me grounded and my finger on the pulse. The most challenging part of my job however is getting people to follow a process and policy that was never in place before i joined.

Pros: Opportunity to learn about a fast moving industry
Cons: No room for growth due to small company
