Lifeline Pietermaritzburg Reviews

I am a social worker currently working as a social auxiliary worker at Lifeline Pietermaritzburg.

I am a social worker currently working as a social auxiliary worker at Lifeline Pietermaritzburg. On a typical work day I provide counselling to clients. Run group counselling sessions. Provide pre and post test counselling to clients as well as perform an HIV test. I play the role of a broker where I link clients with resources that could help them solve or cope with their social issues. I have developed a relationship with my co-workers and I am working very well with them bearing in mind that maintaining a relationship takes hard work. In a working environment I learnt that communication creates a healthy working environment and solves problems as well. The challenging aspect about my job is that I over work myself in order to finish tasks I have been given and even when I am done with a task I often feel I could find another way to do it better. I am interested in the job advertised. Please contact me on 078 720 8485.

Pros: I gain experience and there is room for growth and improvement in the working environment as I work with different kinds of people from different professions.
Cons: The disadvantage is not being able to go all the way when doing my job. I am limited as a social auxiliary worker to do home visits.
