Financial Statements Addict

I review creditors and debtors ledgers together with ageing analysis Supervise Accounts Intern and Accountant Assistant Review bank reconciliation and related cashbooks Review fixed assets that all new additions are accounted for, monthly depreciation is effected and bookvalues agree to Trial balance figure Prepare closing monthly journals after doing ledger review Prepare management report monthly Prepare financial statements Compile monthly accounting file I'm a leader by nature and I've had good relationships with people I've worked with and those i'm currently working with. I'm able to transfer knowledge to fellow employees During my work I've learnt that to be a good learner you must have passion to see others succeed as you through your guidance and training. I enjoy my work because i love working with figures and I pay attention to detail, financial management is my passion.

Pros: As we in filming industry we get exposure to new developments that involves promotion of KZN as a stage plyaground.
Cons: None

Work Environment

At KZN Film Commission individual performance feeds to the team performance and the organisation performance. Employees understand their job is co-dependent on each other and forms a chain. If you drop the ball and not deliver it impacts on the whole organisation. It is a performance based environment and everything you do is measured. We are goal driven which means one must work according to deadlines and targets. It makes one work harder and also learn to work in a team. Challenging part is when there is bottleneck in the process and one cant move as each employee tasks is linked to the next one.

Pros: The industry environment is fast paced and needs one to think on their feet
Cons: Being government entity we get restricted on what we can do as we have to follow regulations with everything

Great learning curve

Great learning curve, little room for growth since its a small government entity. Great space for meeting industry experts. The entity could do better, flat structured.

Pros: Learning curve
Cons: Little room for growth
