Kusile Project Reviews

Great exposure

Challenging working at M&R cause if you are not in a click i.e. racial or gender based and the click is in management chances of progression are nill. It is very sexist and racially biased environment that can make you forget that the whole world is not necessarily like that. I develop systems and being here has afforded me the opportunity to do just that. Its been a double edge sword in that people not knowing what QA is about has helped with the freedom but it has been a tougher sell implementation wise because of this as well. So far I have developed use of electronic tool for tracking and raising NCR's and now I am working on changing documentation to reflect current practice and later ISO 9001:2015. The lifestyle in terms of where we live I like but I spent too much time consumed by work and the hours that a social life is hard to find-balance is hard on site.

Pros: Exposure
Cons: No promotions

Excellent learning curve

Typical day: Advice on whether to raise nonconformities or not, and what corrective action is required to close such nonconformities. Liase with third party inspectors, company managers, client representative and staff. Relationships with co-workers: Are as common in a company, some good and some bad (manage the bad by trying to focus on the job). Learnt: Acknowledge self, working on that daily. Enjoy: Freedom to do what I want-create Challenge: Lack of knowledge by management of difference between QA and QC. Reporting to someone who does not know difference.

Pros: Self Managed
Cons: Long working hours
