Great position

I'm goal oriented and the skills of Planning and Organizing is a good stepping stone on how I manage people with good interpersonal skills. Maintenance Planning, scheduling, resourcing taught me to enforce Health and Safety, cost and procedures of the company. I am a quick leaner and proud in what I have accomplished and yet still to learn. licences of all kolomela Fleet signage disign, print for safety of vehicles (kolomela Fleet) reflective plant numbers design safety signs purchase requsition services, spares PM orders for vehicles adhoc duties

Great people development

Its a great Company One have the opportunity to learn new things everyday. Teamwork is the best way to work. We use our different opinions and backgrounds to help each other grow.

Good development system

Safety compliance, plant operater dump truck driver screening of goods. Working long hours 12hour shifts, we were like family working very well in a team and having a good understanding. Most challenging was to always make sure you are well rested coz it's a very dangerous environment you work in.

Pros: There's great opportunity to develop yourself and get promoted and they had good development programs.
Cons: Long hours, it's dangerous you always have to b extra careful and safety cautious.

It has been a great experience for me.

I loved working in the mining industry. Hours were long but the culture and working ethics were unbelievable. It felt more like a home away from home instead of being at work. There are so many great courses and great opportunities to learn with training which the company provides. I enjoyed working there and will always remember the company.

Career building

I'm good with interacting with people n well motivated. Always willing to learn, goal driven person. During my time at kolomela I've learnt how to respect and care for other people which is the respect I've earned in return. Being part of my shift is one thing I have enjoyed the most when we have to disagree and to agree in order to achieve what is required of us. When we have to reach up targets and we are behind with our tonnes for a certain quarter n preparation for shut downs or maintenance those are the most challenging aspects on my current job.

It is a great Company to work for but the development is very poor within the Company

the day starts off slow but usually ends with a lot work. I have a great relationship with the Foreman and co workers. Never wait for people to help you, rather get up and get things done yourself. the thing I enjoy the most is when we a full shift and everyone is happy. When there is no teamwork it is a challenge. Poor communication is also a challenge.

Pros: Great opportunity to start your career.
Cons: working with people who have bad attitude.

Daily challenges to deal with.

My role as a Safety Officer is to assist line management in meeting the safety, health and environmental standards and implementing safety initiatives in their respective work areas by verifying compliance to SHE systems during inspections, audits, investigation and leadership interactions and interventions.

Pros: Great exposures
Cons: Not always off the clock.

Excellent learning curve

Kolomela is an excellent place to learn at, the problem is no time off and usually is because people don’t prefer the northern cape. Good atmosphere. I started the work with no clue of the job but I’ve learned rd very quick they’ve thrown me in the deep end making it easy for me to learn I can proudly say I know my job in w year

I have completed my National Diploma and currently studing my Btech with UNISA, 6 years working experience
