This position is not a challenge as I have more experience than what it requires

A typical work day starts with receiving a job from the Superintendent.I would assess the vehicle.If the spares are available locally I would arrange the collection or delivery.If the parts must be ordered I put in a request to the workshop office.I have a good relationship with co-workers.They ask my advice and assistance daily as I am the only qualified mechanic presently.As I have more experience than what the job requires I have not learnt anything technically.I enjoy working in digger loafers and wheel loaders.Currently I am the only mechanic working on these equipment.Most challenging part is the turn around time of the actual work as the spares does not arrive timeously.Normally we wait and no other work can commence as the workshop has limited working bays.

Pros: Normal working hours.No deadlines.
Cons: Small workshop.Under staffed.Weak Safety standards.Weak communication.

Good exposure and good learning curve.

My relationship with my co workers is very good. The communication between us flows smoothly. On a daily basis I do filing, schedule meetings, write memorandums. Sometimes I work with consultants invoices as well as contractor invoices and prepare them for payment. I am learning how to deal with clients and the public's complaints. It is very interesting to lean from my co workers how to handle difficult/demanding clients. I enjoy learning new things every day and growing myself and my knowledge.

Pros: Gaining experience and getting a lot of exposure in the public sector.
Cons: Satisfy the public keeping everyone happy, with limited resources

Knowledge

The job consist of worklace where one can learn new things everyday. We also work as team in order for our work to balance. I have learnt many things in HR meeting deadlines, report writings, minute taking . I enjoy assisting employees and explaining their benefits of how do they work and what they should expect. The most challenging part would be not having much information in order to be able to do a function which has a deadline.

Pros: Gaining Skills.
Cons: No Development
