KEW Foundries Reviews

I am a hands-on person who loves to be out in the field amongst the Employees.

My day starts with a toolbox talk in one of the sections trying to inspire the workforce to work safe for the day. I have a great relationship with the workforce and they know they can always come to me with any Safety related problem. I have learnt that any SHE System is as good as the Managers enforcing it, and without the back-up of the Management, you will get nowhere. Lead by example. I enjoy spending time with the workforce most as I was a Fitter myself and I know what it entails. The most challenging aspect of my job if to change the mindset of "older" Employees whom has been with the company for over 20 years. They have always done it this way and nothing has append to them.... Then confincing the younger generation that this is why this is the safer way to do things...

Pros: Great Environment to work in.
Cons: Budget constraints

Excellent Learning curve

Kew Foundries offered me the opportunity to get a more in-depth experience into the world of procurement management and foundry related purchasing. I got to know different raw material and how they are used during the casting process. I also obtained proper experience regarding internal issuing and receiving and stock control.

Pros: The hours are good. You get 50% medical benefit.
Cons: Promotion not easily obtained.
