Growing in the Quality Department

Working at Kerry has been a good experience so far. I work 12 hours a day, and my day to day responsibilities include Conducting sensory and physical product evaluations as per company and customer specifications and requirements. Adjusting incoming batches to meet the company and customer specifications, Approving batches, Monitor and check raw materials & chemicals received against product specification and release product if attributes are within specifications, Conduct Packaging verification checks. Calibration and verification of lab equipment’s, Attend daily production & Quality lab meetings, Conduct microbial swabs every week, Conduct factory checks everyday(health and safety) and Monitor GMP and HACCP practices in the factory, Conduct monthly and quarterly audits (QMS, BRC & AIB), Finished product inspections (Outbound), Issue Non Conformance stickers/reports to other departments, Conduct QC checks as per check sheet during shift and Follow up and Complete all quality related documentation.

Pros: great opportunity to learn

Making HSE History.

This job is what you make of it. It requires constant upgrading, and education. People skills are a must, as you'll require conducting meetings evaluating workers. I've learnt that it is about a partnership with management and employees to continuously improve HSE culture ,awareness and accountability A typical day would begin with attending the Senior Management meeting, reporting to the HSE Global Director and compiling reports. I take the lead in all incident and accident prevention ,investigation analysis and ensure audit compliance standards are meet with an goal of zero accident ,health ,and environment incidents. These include ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001 with the last 2 years having 0 findings during Certification Audits. Received 500 million man hours incident free as an HSE Manager, biggest reward ever. The most challenging part of the job is to achieve complete by in to HSE at all levels of the organisation.

Pros: Interactively work with people on all different levels daily.
Cons: Long hours

Good learning

Provides the best when it comes to learning , the people you work with are very hospitable and welcoming. They make you feel at home. High paced environment. Quality 1st and they provide clear strategy of the company

Quick learner

It's been 4 years now working with different people, it is the best suitable experience i ever learn in my life ,working with different cultures n traditional it's my joy. I work with lovable people n understandable ones, i experience to enjoy my work ,laugh at a time of laugh , being serious at some point but all in one , it's to focus on my work.

Good learning curve

We worked well with my co-workers.I learnt how to work in a team and follow given instructions.The most challenging aspects was running a manufacturing machine on my own.We were manufacturing spices and it was a great stepping stone as it was my first job.I learnt a lot about what is expect from me in the work industry.It was a nice environment to be around.Nothing I enjoyed most as weighing and packing.I was always happy and looking forward in waking up and going to work.The supervisors were good and were great team leaders.Lot of work was done in team and that what excited me a lot because I love working in a team.The job required a hard worker and a person who is open to learning and being taught

Trust is good, but check is better.

Working at Kerry is very challenging and very demanding. I have to ensure that jobs are picked 24hrs in advance. Not always possible, because of jobs being released late. lots of meetings daily. With my peers I have a good relationship. in meetings it's to the book, but on the shop floor we show an united front. People do not accept accountability for their actions and departments. getting SAP training in 2015 was interesting and very stressful. meeting deadlines is just so great. first meeting of the day is 07h30 even though my working hours are 08h00, next meeting is 08h30 walking the shop floor next one is at 10h00. have lot's o Skype meetings too. Kerry is an international company.

Pros: 13th cheque. SAP good package to have.
Cons: always online, always be availible and contactable.

Assisting in audits

I am currently working at Kerry Ingredients as a raw Material Inspector, my responsibilities include: Inspection of incoming raw materials and raise NC on the system to the supplier should stock not conform with standard and do follow ups until NCR is closed. Supplier visits when necessary, doing internal audits and monthly GMP through out the factory, pest control inspection, glass register and daily housekeeping. Product extension and recently started with customer Questionnaire and system auditing where I audit procedures.

Pros: Doing things that are out of my job spec like customers questionnaires
Cons: Working until late to finish up work

Good experience

My role is a quality inspector currently based I. The lab and in outbound. Inspections are don’t to see it stock meets certain specifications. I also ensure that the finished product meets requirements before shipped to the customer. We deal with sensory, analytical testing ma. I also deal with customer complaints and returns.
