Kamo Architects Reviews

Professional company meeting the challenges of the industry.

My day at work starts at 8am with with me checking my emails for any correspondence from clients, consultants and contractors. I then have a (coffee) meeting with the principal in the meeting room to discuss work matters and the emails. Based on that a work plan is created with an end goal. Thereafter I proceed to my desk and action the plan. Meetings with clients, clients, consultants and contractors occur during the day. Drawings are prepared, co-ordinate, checked, changed and issued by us. Lunch hour is at midday (1pm - 2pm) and work ends at 4:30pm.

Pros: Interesting projects; great team of colleges, up to date equipment.
Cons: time used commuting to and from the office is high due to road traffic

Excellent learning experience

I am currently working/ helping Kamo Architects on a Retail Development Design we are doing in Durban. Personally, I had never worked on a a shopping mall design before...it’s been challenging working on this particular project as it’s built on “air” with the railway station and tracks on the level below. I have learnt a lot on shopping mall designs.

Pros: Great learning experience on retail development design
Cons: Scheme change and Long endless hours
