Gained valuable experience and knowledge

Dealing with walk-in customers as well as telephonically. Whether it's selling something or just advising on which ever the customer needs assistance with. I have good relationships with my colleagues. I've gained valuable experience in the business not just selling but understanding what I'm selling and how. I love seeing a customer happy after they done the purchase. Once renovations commences they always come back with some pictures to show me the outcome.

Pros: Great selling something you know and understand, training is provided. No Commission but profit share and annually bonus
Cons: Commission wouldve been advantageous

Industry Establishment

Growth and establishment in the industry. However the corporate culture is yet still to be fully determined and understood as this was a family business.

Pros: JSE listed and profit share.
Cons: Retail and long working hours

Learning opportunities

I was a sales consultant. I helped clients who came to the store to choose products based on their style. I also helped clients to make quotes and would also follow up on them. I would regularly do a customer follow up and ask clients how was their experience at the store and find out what the store could do to improve their experience at the store. The store received a significant traffic and we were always on our toes. The team made it enjoyable to work there. I enjoyed interacting with clients and to better understand human behaviour.

Cons: Less family time
