The importance of meeting deadlines but being able to supply a quality products to your clients. Some days are very busy some are not dependent how much products your clients want or need. Relationship between co-workers to me is very important because mist of the business day you work as a team to make a company success.

• Process develop and design water treatment plants, effluent treatment and Reverse Osmosis plants • Evaluate the practical implication of upgrading the laboratory solution to a full-scale plant • Self-development and acquiring of new skills • Completion and submission of investigation, trial and commissioning reports • Participate in the commissioning of water treatment plants. • Transfer knowledge to sales and operating staff during and after commissioning of plants. • Ensure that work is carried out in a safe manner in accordance with Improchem and customer safety requirements. • Familiarise oneself with existing and future process technologies for water quality improvement. • Designing of water treatment plant based on customer requirements and specifications • Continuous improvement in regards to designs of water treatment plants • Compiling of operating plant manuals and troubleshooting guide • Training of plant operators

Great learning opportunity
Worked as a contractor on a Tiger Brands canning plant. Responsible for treating the cooling water to industry specifications. This was to keep the systems scale and corrosion free as well as to keep the microbiological counts in the water within drinking water specifications. Responsibilities on site include; upkeep of dosing equipment, ordering and stock control of chemicals, water analysis, report generation and general PR. Tasked with responding to emergency call-outs after hours. I learned many so much water treatment knowledge from my time at Improchem

Hardworking and determination results in self improvement
The company benefits are good but it is a sales company ( sales it is its core business ) not technical guys. Development is good for sales technologists not technical guys like us. As the only Instrument Tech in our branch, maintenance , installation , trouble shooting and training including system development on site for our equipment is my responsibility. Every morning service technician have a meeting were we share the challenges they face , if they cannot resolve due to training , i train them or visit the site and resolve those problem and do coaching later and technical fault finding on the plant or equipments are more exciting than building the panels because i learn a lot from them. The challenging is that there no proper training for technicians , if there's new fault or equipment technician must rely on manual or contact the supplier.

Great exposure
Lab analysis is typically a routine job but you get unfamiliar and challenging samples from time to time and also special projects which is exciting. It is interactive with both customers and colleagues so one needs to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. I have learnt to deal with any situation promptly, to be patient and work well under pressure , to provide accurate,reliable results consistently and timelously as this is the core function of the lab. Because we are a head office lab, we receive samples from all over South Africa and other African countries where we operate. The sample volumes can be quiet overwhelming but you learn to prioritise and work smart, which can be challenging when everyone requires urgency or priority on their samples.
Pros: Working with various type of watet sample I.e. Cooling Towers, boilers, effluent/wastewater, drinking water, borehole etc

Conscientious, meticulous, with years of Experience
Arrive at work at 6am. Plan the days goals and work direction I get on well with others and am a team player. Disagreements will arise but it needs to be resolved in a proffesional manner and amicably I have learn't how to deal with people, situations, my own growth and proffeisonally in my career. I'm Honest to a fault, kind, respectful. I enjoy the challenge of designing a plant layout that is safe, cost effective and practical.
Pros: My judgement is trusted when it comes to the modeling design.

Great company to work for
Improchem is one of the best companies to work for. I am based at head office so most issues pertaining to safety do come through to us. its very challenging at the same time exciting. The relationship between the co workers is a healthy one, sort of like a family as there are older and younger people. I have learnt a lot over the years. My only issue right now is I need to relocate back to Durban as I am struggling financially and right now the company is not in a position to give me a transfer as it's also re-structuring.

Excellent hard work
I'm working as plant operator..I started working as student in 2010 .we manufacture different chemicals from blending to reaction chemical..I have learned A lot since o started to work at improchem.about safety and customers first
