Thato

My work is exciting with a lot of challenges and that makes me to perform better in my daily duties and learn new things. The more I encounter problems the more I become better in solving them and finding solutions. I have learnt to have good communication skills, build good solid relationships with internal and external customers. Plan and prioritise my work accordingly and give good results.

Pros: Attention to details
Cons: Sense of urgency which could sometimes be interpreted as impertiant by peers who are not driven

Very good and valuable experience

As per my duties and responsibilities, there is never a same day as one would do this today and do that the next, except for the planned weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings which are set. It is not a rule but we stand in in the absents of one another i.e. if a CSI officer is not going to be in due to one reason or another. and in that process one learn's a lot. So the relationship is very good among the colleagues. The most valuable lesson in all of that is that you enhance your knowledge in different disciplines. the most challenging yet enjoyable aspect is finding a creative solution/advice during management and union meetings.

Pros: I can personally say Impala Platinum Refineries is a very good practical university.
Cons: Reaching a sealing

No interesting challenges

Can't apply my engineering degree.Old technology. Resistance to change. Work relationship is boring. Learn where does instrumentation and control systems fit in, in successful running of the plant. Recently nothing,I need change. People who are for scared to change. No recognition of qualifications.

Pros: No sure
Cons: No recognition of qualifications

Great opportunity to upskill

Great working environment, learning opportunities and best way to learn to interact with different people on different levels. The working hours can sometimes be too much and having to work Saturdays was also a down side to the whole experience. On a daily basis you have meetings and munites to type along with other things which can sometimes be unplanned.

Pros: Interaction with Executives
Cons: Long hours without over time pay
