Great learning experience with measuring instruments and tools

I've learned to use measuring instruments such as verniers,ball and flat mics,flatness squares,measuring tapes,protractors,all types of manual operated tools eg..shifting spanners,screwdrivers,pliers-long and flat nose.I also worked on various machinery since I was in the extrusions department....machines such as the alluminium press,stretcher,cut to length saw and also overhead cranes of many sizes.I worked with people of different cultures and races.I really loved the fact that there was always something new to learn in the workplace and also the wages and bonuses were great.what I found most challenging was working night shifts since there was a great deal of pressure included but overall the experience was great and I enjoyed working for an organisation as big as Hulamin.

Pros: great wages-hourly/weekly
Cons: managements pressure

Good development within an intense industrial environment.

Working at hulamin has given me a broad scope of what it is like to have a position within the industrial field, I have gained a great aptitude and appreciation continuous production and multiple processes that are all intergrated to to fulfill customer satisfaction and demand. I have worked with very dynamic people , who are continuously under pressure to perform , hence the experience was not always great. But that was something I took in my stride and it helped me in the sense that now I know how to deal with different situations without taking an emotional stance. A typical day at work in my department is very busy with having to keep up with a constant changing and situational environment, but overall is quite manageable and satisfying.i have leant a lot within my field such as alloy development and blending, process control and management of constraints to business objectives and also implementing of various strategies.i enjoy the fact that everyday is not the same , I like the challenge.

Pros: Exposure to a multi process industry
Cons: As a chemical engineer the scope for the field is not always available or needed
