Housing Development Agency Reviews

Excellent Development, Great Soft Skills Development,Excellent leadership

An amazing environment to work in. It requires a self starter, disciplined and responsible professional. I have a good working relationship with my colleagues. We all have frequent meeting to sensitize everyone of the objective we all strive for in the organization. I that I've learnt to account, assertive, decisive and negotiate. My academic experiences have been used throughly in my projects and to the organization. I've developed into a diligent manager that can easily relate with everyone at all levels, which I enjoy the most. My soft skills have vastly improved whereby I can turn a heated/sombre room into a fun filled. Most challenging about my role is not being offered necessary support in projects which were not properly planned, which I now then have to resuscitate. My job requires me to be at an interface with the end users in various informal settlements, which are mostly volatile and posses a huge risk to my life as I often get held hostage, atlas once a month.

Pros: great environment to work in.Opportunities for career development
Cons: Lack of social facilitations, volatile community exposure

Excellent national exposure at executive levels.

I have had to work in an empowering space, being exposed to executive and accounting officer levels in the varied national and provincial government departments. The focus being on relational management at governance, executive and operational levels.

Pros: Exposure to broader government planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Cons: Dynamic political environment with short 'life' spans of proncipals. Disruptive to developmental continuum.

Exellent learning opporunity

A day in my position include liaising with media companies, updating websites, writing and editing, events management, ensuring that communication and marketing strategy approved by the Board is implemented. I enjoy problem solving. I generally work well within a team and my "two-eye seeing" (ability to perceive and unpack complex issues) abilities assist me to resolve complex issues. I won organizational "Path Finder" award in 2017. I am also very keen on IT.

Pros: Great Opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours

Great experience by far

My day is hectic as I process journals and invoices of suppliers. Sometimes they don't submit everything then you have to follow up. I have a great relationship with co workers as they make me belong and I can contribute ideas. I enjoy the experience they give me and they don't limit me. Most challenging aspects is dealing with difficult suppliers and workers but it helps because I've gained experience to deal calmly with stressful situations.

Pros: Great experience by far
Cons: Difficult suppliers
