Hospersa Reviews

Same as below

I was previously employed as an Executive Secretary & personal assistant reporting to the Resort Human Resources Manager, Payroll Officer, Training Administrator and Training co-ordinator in the Learning & Development Department at Sun City Resort. I am applying for this position since it matches my skills and abilities, my previous experience and positions I filled successfully. I feel that this position will enable me to demonstrate my abilities and skills and make a contribution in an area. The position seems interesting and challenging and I look forward to making progress in my career in that direction. I am a loyal employee who acts with integrity. I am able to cope under pressure. I work well in team but I am able to work independently. I have good communication skills. I would be most grateful if you would please consider my application for a administrative assistant position. Thanks & Regards Yasmin

Pros: Hospersa is a trade Union and I'm employed as a provincial administrator and would like to look for new challenges.
Cons: Willing to work extra hours

We as Provincial Managers play an integral role for our Organisation. We grow the organisation.

I am currently working for Hospersa (Health & Other Services Personnel Trade Union of South Africa), as the Provincial Manager / Secretary of the Eastern Cape Province. My duties involve handling the overall Management, Financial & Labour Relations matters for our staff & members in the Health Services & Public Sector. I am always servicing, coordinating & interacting with both the employees & employers & ensuring that they receive the best advice of their rights in terms of the relevant Labour legislations. I am involved in negotiations for the employees’ salaries, working conditions & advising or representing them in Provincial Chamber as well as ensuring they are represented in their personal disciplinary enquiries & consultations for restructurings, closures & mergers.

Pros: Very rewarding when assisting an unfairly treated Member, also in my own Staff, seeing them grow as individuals, even after performance management process
Cons: politics, being a Union, I head the Administration & employed staff, and then there is the other arm of Shop Stewards lead by the Provincial Chairperson, so they do not always understand management principles, but try to force to co-manage which is not their function

Fast, furious, interesting and fun

Typical work day is busy, incoming and outgoing clients and calls, cases being referred and providing assistance to the Manager. Good relationship with co-workers, we are one happy family. I have learned that if I want things done, I do it myself, and I know it is done correctly. I enjoy the the team building, and friendly clients. Challenging aspect of my work is the constant change of documents and things from National Office to Provincial Offices.

Pros: None
Cons: No promotion in future

It was a union

As a female there is not much growth as most positions are filled by male. So it would happen that females would only be able to work in department that had involved a lot of administrative roles. Those department being legal, membership, reception, human resources and finance department but the people who are in management positions are males. It's a trade union.

Pros: it seems stable along with the salary
Cons: the same type of work everyday

Good learner and willing to face challenges when arise and being extrovert

- We resolve various problems, misunderstandings and inquiries based on merits. I'm a typical intuitive person even though we work as a team when we are overloaded with a lot of work or being under pressure as well as on planning. - I learned to negotiate in a very complex environment with meticulous solutions on various merits and doing negotiating as an individual as well as a team with seniors. - Solving complex problems, clarifying confusions, being a trendsetter and working an extra mile in some cases. - Not having enough equipment or devices to perform the work.

Pros: Growth within the company
Cons: working overtime when required
