Don't focus on the negativity, be self motivated and make today better than yesterday

My current company deals with clients, there's different kind of people to deal with everyday. It is a good lesson to prepare yourself before starting the day. It gets hectic at times but it is important to keep everything the way it should be and handled very well. There is more team work since we have to keep everything in order and that helps. At first fitting in was not easy but i had to were large size of the companies shoes to get the job done well. It was not hard as they work as a team.lesson learnt was to always willing to learn more and challenge yourself

Excellent learning experience

Working at Hollywood has thought me alot more about payroll, I have learned the background things and learned payroll start to finish. Hollywood is a very fast paced growing company, it is very stressful and pressurized working with salaries and reporting to management. Your work needs to be accurate as you dealing with people's salaries. I work with very strong individuals and we have a good working relationship. I love my job and what makes me feel good is when salaries are paid to our hard working staff.

Pros: Gained alot of experience.

Great starter career

Casual office environment - family, some days are very busy from the get go and it exceeds the working hours of the day. it also follows you home, calls and urgent emails that needs to be addressed. We have busy seasons where we work long hours and days to get a successful end result. The day is never the same, i have different branches with different queries and needs, so the plan changes all the time depending on the level of priority. I have gained so much experience in sales, customer service and marketing and especially how the day to day operations work in the business as a whole. I love the office environment, it's casual and fun and we are a diverse group of individuals, young and middle aged, different cultures and yet we all get along great. Challenging - is the different areas there is, the city, border towns and garden route, you cannot address the same matter in the same way and have to take into consideration the cultural changes.

Pros: Great incentives to travel and experience the world abroad.
Cons: Travelling, long hours on the road

Great learning curve

Great team spirit and ,support . Highly pressurised environment with no room for mistakes. Have learnt accuracy, paying attention to details and beIN your best in a highly pressurised environment. Room for personal growth within the company.

Office and admin duties

The I worked for is a very good company. I started as an betting clerk but the experience I learnership was more than being a betting clerk,, office duties, admin and cash count and customer service, that's the things I learnership from Hollywood.

Good learning experience

Poor management style No staff benefits Poor staff remuneration Staff is not taken into account when making decisions that will affect them. Company is loosing so many good employees and nothing is done about retention.

Good place to start learning work

It's a very good place to start learning to work, axpecially when looking for being a good customer service or becoming a customer service leader, its a gambling place were day by day you get to deal with different kind of customers from different countries. Work with atleast 75 employees. Pressure is what is always there. It's an enjoyable place only if you adapt to pressure.I have learned so much, how to deal with customers which are difficult, the management part, Admin which all those I didn't know when I joined them.

Customer service internally and externally

Good company values but the regional managers think the company belong to them and they take advantage of their position. Your personal issues becomes everyone business. No stability within the western cape region compare to other regions
