I am working at Hollywood sports book, started working as a betting clerking and only 8 months in my job i was promoted to a team leader the positions that i am still working at the moment. Working as a team leader has never been easy as you will be manage everything at the branch with minor supervision from your branch manager. I have a good relationship with my team, as i am a friendly & understanding person who listen to both side of a story before making an decision. Working at a sport book is never easy as they are all kind of customers that you deal with everyday. I have learned a lot of things at Hollywood sports book e.g customer service, deal with large amount of cash, decision making, training new team members the product of Hollywood sports book. since join the company i have enjoyed the challenges that i face day by day challenges such as customer complains, working under pressure with minor supervision.

Excellent Learning Curve
Working at a betting shop were you deal with punters on a daily basis sharpens your patience and tolerance, which basically makes your customer service A grade. The gaming industry is male dominated, working in such an environment as a female requires one to always stand your ground as there is a lot of gender discrimination. Most punters who come and gamble become very anxious and grumpy, and rude especially when they lose. I have learnt to always be calm, humble and patient with customers. Co-workers become very close because they work long hours together, meaning they spend more time at work.the most challenging part of being a betting clerk is dealing with theft from your co-worker; so you always have to guard your money. Dealing with customers who come with fake notes or who just do not want to pay is also very challenging. Betting clerks always have to be very alert when they are at work and we enjoy our tips especially month end.

Excellent learning curve
I've learned a lot at Hollywood, team work which makes it easier to reach target. Respecting everyone whether they are rich or poor but under Hollywood roof they are equal. Customer service is the first priority which leads us to have lot of customers then production becomes easier. Even if I was not getting credit for my hard work I didn't look down to myself it gave me more power to keep on going until I was recognized. Working at Hollywood gave me a different view of life, that everyone you meet everyday is important no matter how they look like and it's very wise to learn at least one new thing everyday. Allowing team members to participate different activities, which helps them to learn everything that it is happening at Hollywood as whole.

Excellent learning curvr
Its a good office environment. The people working a very friendly almost like family given the years working there. I have learnt a lot from working here so much of knowledge in the corporate world, office based, field work etc. I love the new ideas and events Hard times comes with hard work and pressures of producing and being the best at what you do

Excellent learning curve
I work at a well established gambling industry. I work as a cash monitoring operator which is part of the risk management at the Head office in Umhlanga, I have a good relationship with my co workers due to being an out-going well spoke person. I have learnt how to handle cash, coordinating functions, excellent customer service the are some many more. I enjoy being under pressure and working with excellent attention to detail. Credit bets and robberies being part of risk is challenging but also keeps us on our toes. Hollywood has thought me a lot especially being with people from different cultures and talents.

Excellent growing company
Closed department were one feels excluded from other surrounding areas. A stranger to other staff. A typical day of work is slow and long. Need more activities to participate in. Need to be acknowledged for what I do. Need to be heard. Need a better salary.
