I have learnt a lot about Hospitality as I come from FNB Card Division.

I enjoy my Job, but I am extremely bored as I am not learning anything new. Other than Creditors I also do a whole host of other things : Ensuring the refuse and recycling is collected. Monitoring the Hygiene of all the Public and Staff bathrooms with the Vendor Ensuring that our Indoor Plants are maintained monthly and Flowers are changed once a Month (with the Vendor) The GM entrusts me with quite a lot of duties because she says I am the only one who will get things done right the first time. I have an amazing relationship with about 98% of my co workers, including Management (I believe this to be due to the fact that I was a Manager at FNB Card Division) so I have the People Skills etc. Many of colleagues will come to me for assistance with personal and work related issues, and I always ensure that I sort their issues out for them. I have learnt a lot as far as Hospitality is concerned.

Pros: I enjoy the atmosphere in the Company for most.
Cons: No Opportunity for promotion / Salary not enough / The travelling is getting to me (80km per day)

Excellent Experience

- Friendly and very welcoming people everyday felt like home. - One of the things I gained from this establishment was the vastness and a variety of opportunities the hospitality industry has to offer. - Management was brilliant in that they always promoted individual growth within the establishment. Encouraged promotions to higher positions for everyone - The only difficulty, as with all other jobs, was dealing with unreasonable clients or guests. - Working with the whole team of the establishment, the unity and proffesionalism that was evident in almost everyone and the willingness to aid one another whenever suitable

Pros: Full of opportunities and trainings
Cons: Long working hours only when the hotel is full

Growth

Managing staff or assuming full control of all areas of the hotel, ensuring the comfort, well-being and security of guest in accordance with the standard of the hotel. Sending the daily activity report to management Preparing the daily VIP report liaise with the housekeeping department and guest Ensuring that Front Office staff is doing their daily banking before the shift ends Performing the lobby duty on the busy hours Arrange the group recon, the ledger account and be forwarded to management Following up with all the non confirmed booking made Operating switchboard and answering, directing in-coming calls and dealing with guest enquires during shift. Helping guest with internet connections problem during grave yard shift.

Pros: Great opportunity
Cons: Long hours
