Broadened my level of knowledged.
A typical day at work is any one of the following: Technical assistance to Sales/aftermarket/parts Technical training to Hitachi Staff Handling technical projects Warranty Adjudication (second level) Assembly of new giant equipment on site. My relationship with my co-workers is extremely good as I believe that there is no "I" in the word team. I have learnt the business side of this industry, by understanding the marketing aspect and product development side in order to catch the attention of the customer. I enjoy the feeling of the machine being awakened after it stands broken down. The most challenging aspect of the job is loosing team members to the following: unforeseen injury, job relocation and movement within the group.
Pros: Surrounded by people with many years of knowledge which is more valuable than a certificate

A typical day at work varies from day to day. I support the range of equipment from a technical point of view. Mechanics and customers often contact our division for assistance with machines. I am also responsible for managing the assembly of the giant mining equipment on site when a customer has order the machinery. I also am qualified as a facilitator, assessor and moderation. I provide technical training to new mechanics and apprentices.

Learn everday
days at Mafube are normally well planned, we have a toolbox talk every morning before we start the day. thereafter I delegate duties and responsibilities to the guys. I have an excellent working relationship with my co-workers. I have learnt that patience pays off and that we are all different individuals in the working world and sometimes we tend to misunderstand each other but good listening skills and patience will get you far. I enjoy when I complete my tasks which always ends with me having to invoice Anglo American and bring in money for the company. the biggest challenge that I face is the customer always being right. we sell the customer parts for the machines and they sometimes try to get them for free or claim warranty

Became knowledgeable in training and parts sectors
The position I currently hold in my company is technical support/Product support. I am responsible for getting involved with all unique and rare failures on the range of products. I also get involved in the detailed investigations of all component failures. I am second level adjudicator for the warranty submissions to the OEM. I am qualified in facilitation, assessing and moderation. I provide technical training to the technical staff. I also oversee the building of all giant Excavators on site when a customer makes a purchase( range EX1200 to EX8000). I have also recently obtained a qualification in project management through Wits University
Pros: I travel and get to see the world
Cons: There is no line of growth or path of development set for me.

Gaining more knowledge from my company
A typical work day is to support the brand. To assist all technical staff on the brand. Giving training. Adjudicating warranty claims. Management of new equipment assembly.
