When working at this company you have no personal life , you get threatened on a daily basis and you are given no contract because they do not conform to the basic employment conditions act. The workshop manager shouts and fights 247 and doesn't have any people relationship

I have a better understanding of transport and logistics

It is a typical working day with a lot of challenges. Need to make sure people are on time, trucks on right route, cross border documents monthly in place. Enjoy working with people on trucks - lot of satisfaction to help and solve their problems or to be the link between them and their families. I learned a lot about exports and logistics the past 5 years and the most enjoyable aspect of my work is to close the day knowing that I achieved my goals set for the day or even exceed them.

Pros: Working with prople from different back grounds.
Cons: Working very long hours (14 - 16 hours per day) and little time for family.

Excellent Teamwork and Excellent learning curve

Being the Site Manager means to be an allrounder so to speak.. I typically come in early, gain all information to report on a daily conference call. My main focus is to keep our staff, of which most are drivers, positive in order to create a calm work environment, as we spend 14 hours per day working. Drivers are coming in every morning after deiveries was done at Mozambique, hand in their paperword, get to go and shower and eat at the facilities provided for them. Greenband driving is part of my daily checklist, as well as to ensure trucks are going for services, turnaround times are also checked and drivers moved to different mines.

Pros: Great teamwork
Cons: No feature promotions

excellent learininh curve regarding the transport industry.

Our working hours are 8 to 5 Mon to Fridays. My working hours are sometimes to 7 over month ends. the co workers are great and we worked as a team I learned a lot regarding the transport industry. It is very different from Retail or manufacturing. I'm enjoying the accounting side of it. Management reports and the cost per truck. the most challenging aspects of the job are the stock per truck the services and all the cost per truck. it is a fast industry and with the inter companies the sub companies and contractors you need to arrange your day and be a team player.

Pros: there are no promotions you are stuck in the position you are.
Cons: some times the over lapping of communication between the different companies.
