Hermes ship chandlers gave me a great opportunity to learn.

Since i started working at Hermes ship chandlers i have leant a lot , i started working there as general assistant but due to my experience obtained from Republic Umbrella i was promoted from being a forklift driver/general assistant to be a Provisions Storeman,now i controll the whole provisions as well as Bond stores, im able to use FIFO rule (first in first out)i can fill stock cards and dertemine which stock is about to expire and which stock is moving fast. im also making sure that physical stock corresponds with stock cards as well as computer stock.i can load and offload trucks and containers using the forklift of which i have 10 years of experience driving .

Pros: since i started working there in 2015 the following year i was promoted.
Cons: We had overtime now and then but its not a regular thing.

This department has great learning opportunities

working in the shipping industry and especially in the chandling sector required huge amounts of pressure as this sector is always regulated by time freight. I have gained extensive technical knowledge being in this industry. I have an excellent working relationship with fellow colleagues. I enjoy working under pressure Everyday is a new day for learning cos requirements vary.

Pros: always an opportunity for climbing
Cons: extreme pressure most of times
