Heineken South Africa Reviews

My current job review

My current job is office based and i work as a support staff member in a team. My typical day at the office involves tracking of stake holders budgets and communicating the info directly to them. Creating purchase requisitions and payments to suppliers. Admin is my strong point and multi tasking and prioritizing is key. My relationship with my co workers is professional and sound. I do sometimes feel certain individuals don't pull their weight and this effects me and the whole team when it comes to executing/implementing strategies. I have learnt what to prioritize and diarize all important information. I am most effective and productive working alone than in a team, with minimum supervision for best outputs. What i enjoy the most is working on systems i.e SAP as you specialize in the different functions. The most challenging part of my job is that the team is field based and getting info back from them is a mission as communication is poor.

Pros: Acknowledge great performance.
Cons: Traveling and working on weekends

A Day at work

A typical day at Heineken is very busy, fast moving, juggling a few balls, an environment where you can make mistakes provided that you learn from them, there's an entrepreneurial spirit and an individual is given autonomy in their role. My relationships with co-workers is very strong, I'm very approachable, blessed with an amazing personality, I'm very bubbly and easy to talk to. I'm still learning to find a proper balance between the mind and the heart when dealing with people in the work environment. What I love the most about my job is my contribution in shaping careers, my contribution to the country and the economy as a whole by ensuring that I do my part in delivery best and fair labour practices in my organization. What still challenges me is getting over the hurt of sitting in disciplinary hearing that ends with a dismissal, seeing a person lose their job is just painful to witness.

Pros: Great Development opportunities
Cons: Long work hours

Heineken SA Journey

My itinerary for the day is planned at the end of the previous day for a smooth sail through the day, of course, which always helps me manoeuvre around any changes. I sell throughout the day verbally (commercial acumen) and virtually (Point of sale). I relate very well with my team(8). We all own our trades respectively and only meet during our weekly meeting and sometimes when assisting each other with activations but each time we meet it's like we call on the same outlet together each day, they're a great team to be a part of. I learned patience, dealing with different types of customer, excellent leadership skills and work-life balance (time management). I enjoy the ability and freedom of running my trade(territory) how I see fit (promotions and volume drive), at my own time. The very late night promotions which of course come with the type of goods I'm selling is a challenge but it doesn't happen all the time.

Pros: Really nice company to work for with a great team.
Cons: Frequent late night activations

Sales Representative Heineken

Sales Representative based in Soweto and Johannesburg, looking after the distributors selling our alcohol in large numbers. Implement promotional activities and manage their accounts. Most challenging is the constant out of stock issues with in turn affects my volume contribution.
