Experience aquired is excellent

My job is to perform the administrative functions in the Central Credit Department (Head Office) for all branches in South Africa. A vital role in this position is the preparation of relevant legal security documentation as well as capturing data to the Bank’s core system, Hplus, which also involves liaising with credit personnel at branch level and external entities such as Attorneys, Accountants and Insurance companies

Amazing colleagues

It has been a great learning experience. Capturing EFT's on a daily basis, liasing with branches to solve queries and all other activities I perform daily have taught me how to do my job accurately and meet all deadlines. It has taught me how to handle pressure without feeling overwhelmed. I enjoy working with my colleagues they're amazing people, I'd remember them if I leave HBZ. The most challenging days in my job are month ends because there's a high volume of work, which sometimes compel one to skip lunch inorder to make it on time. I enjoy capturing because I hardly ever make mistakes as I double or triple check everything before confirming it.

Excellent learning curve

A typical working day includes the reconciliation of various National and international bank accounts, daily assisting in capturing, dealing with queries and assisting the rest of the finance team

Good work experience

A good place to start working after university. A working day depends on the exchange rate movements, thus some days are quite and some are very busy. I enjoy the environment it is very friendly and calming. I have a very strong relationship with my co-workers, it's as if we are family. I have learnt general Banking activities and how to process all treasury related transactions. I work in the back office. I have gained knowledge of Forex and Money Market deals, assisting in managing company liquidity, and making payments via SWIFT message.

Cons: Very low salary
