Good learning experience

I am currently working as a General Worker and a Cashier it's really challenging and tiring at the same time but really fun.I am learning a lot everyday from the language (we speak Afrikaans a lot here) to understanding people and also how to be patient with every customer difficult (especially farmers) or not. My day include helping customers with products and also helping with collecting cash; card transactions and booking fuels. However I cannot say I learned all of this on my own I got a brilliant team that's always there to help either with a printer doesn't work or solving an issue with a customer we have each other's back like that. I like working people I believe working with people is my passion because I am a patient and loving person but the problem is dealing with difficult people that's my weakness because I can never reciprocate badly to them. All in all I am gaining good communicational skills; and interpersonal skills.

Excellent learning curve

xxI enjoy working for my company with the majority of clients being farmers. I have an good relationship with c-workers, who support me in decision making. The people reporting to me support and understand me as Manager and understand that i'm always open to new ideas and support them in all their ideas.xx

Pros: No body looking over your shoulder, great corporate structure.
Cons: New management not understanding the ground work of his co-workers.

My work as supervisor was not recognise

i did not enjoy working here becuase i am block at my careeyou dont get promoition and youer work is not being recognise. i really did not enjopy my last days working at gwk. i have learbnt alot but i wnot grow

Excellent learning curve

I have a clear, logical mind with a practical approach to problem solving and a drive to see things through to completion and achieving operational objectives that’s being set. I have a great eye for detail. I am eager to learn, I enjoy overcoming challenges, and I have a genuine interest in Business Management and in the Retail sector.

No growth opportunities. Bad management. Great employees who's talents are not valued.

No growth opportunities. Management is incompetent. Company is being managed into the ground. No training is provided. Employees are not being developed. Employees not promoted based on achievements and work standard, but rather by how much they are liked.

Study oppotunity

gwk is a very large corporate business , who specialise in many different departments . i have studied business management and accountancy is one of my subjects , and with the current job i has exspose myself in the reconciliation of the bank and cash ups . the fuel environment was a totalle new era and i have learn alot . we currently run a convenience store , with a fuel station where i is responsible for the recon of the fuel daily and the cashups of cashiers to balance on a daily basis . i also identify the shortages and recover it on a monthly basis . the most challenging aspect is the night shifts on a weekly basis . I am a friendly and easy going person .
