Excellent learning in survival skills with the meager salary you get.

this is a very demanding job. the customers is the most important one and his/her needs must be satisfied. you have to adjust to the changes that happens every time. very demanding because everyone wants you to help them. as long as the planning is done right everything works out. then you can handle any crisis that arises. the people that i work with makes the difference. they are there when you down and do not feel to work anymore. the team helps you to complete the tasks on time. at least you know there is somebody to cover your back because you can rely on them to complete one task while you busy completing the other tasks. you fellow workers will trust you when they see that you are there to help them to and not to ride on their backs to get the job done. its hard to motivate people when the salary is not great and the demands of the managers are tough.

Pros: there is no progress for me in company
Cons: shift work and sometimes overtime occurs due to staff not pitching up for the next shift

My current role

In my current role as a Reach Truck Driver at Gulf, I handle all the duties to name the few. Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks and goods receiving. Performing daily equipment checks as well as lubricating machinery and dispatching. Moving goods packed on pallets and stacking pallets, packing and picking stock. My Line manager frequently praises me for my ability to solve warehouse problems without requesting input, I am efficient and finally I have a Reach Truck Driver’s Certificate and knowledge of all MS Office Suites programs as well as experience in customer service. I work well in a team and as an individual,being able to relate with people. my Role is challenging but organised. friendly working harmony with management. integrity and a sense of responsibility are my strong virtues. consider it a privilege to contribute my enthusiasm, reliability, integrity and perseverance to fill my job requirements

Communication with clients and meeting targets

Managing time and trying to avoid mistakes. Doing calculation every day. Picking and packing according to to the volume of truck. Checking everything is good before you deliver.

We are situated in a factory where we make that finished product

Temperatures are also below zero degrees we where safety gear like boot and coats and plastic gloves and we pack boxes of meat.We chop and sort the meat about 190 kg of bins push it to the other rooms where the meat is again lifted with machinery which is used by humans. We carry loads of crates with meat from exterior and into the freaze which freezes below degrees , we work for ten hours a day with a thirty minute tea break. We sort cold meat with plastic gloves.

I am still learning

Still learning and understanding the work, but the working conditions are not well because its a place of cold things. So one can easily be sick .company don't seem to look after their employees in terms of their health even though it is very dangerous for ones health. The working hours are well because one only get 8hours a day and day offs we do get as supposed to get.

I have learnt so much at this company and is still open for learning.

working in this company gave me so much oppertunitys to work with new people everyday. I have grown to love my collegues as if we are a family. i have learnt so ,uch patience and working with people and i enjoy it every minute. Every day is a challenge for me reason being i recruit new staff every day and new experiences .
