I'm the type of person who enjoys and thrives upon challenges both inside and outside the working environment. I feel I have a positive approach and outlook, along with being both organised and innovative. Im very effective working collaboratively as part of a team, but am equally confident working independently and seizing the initiative. For instance keen undying interest in effective data handling techniques has pushed me towards studying, reading and working through reports, publications and audio podcasts on predictive analytics, challenges of real-time data integration, dashboard design for usability, trends in product data quality just to name a few, which answered a lot of important questions such as, what works in business intelligence and or data warehousing? How do you leverage data to deliver even more business value? Why predictive analytic tools are often so difficult to use? What are the characteristics of a good analytic application?

My outlook on what I do

Excellent place to learn everything about the industry

Guardrisk is an forever changing company, there is always something new, a new challenge new opportunity to think different. My typical day at Guardrisk starts at 6:00 AM with going over and replying emails and planning the days objectives until 8:00 AM, then the day starts with either adhoc request/queries, from clients and portfolio managers on the status of their cells. after lunch this is when the meat of work gets done, this is when I do most of my model building, coding and sometimes reports.

Innovative business solutions and cell captive specialist

Guardrisk promotes a culture of people and customer centricity. There is a very positive and strong team collaboration. My experience at Guardrisk has been widened in reinsurance, claims facilitation, implementing and improving operational efficiencies. I enjoy product development, policy wording enhancements and development to create an edge and falling in line with TCF requirements. Innovation and flexibility enabled speed to market delivery. one of the limitations is career advancement

Guardrisk Workflow

Guardrisk is am interesting company to work for within the short term space is frantic, with the small numbers we are required to wear many hats thus meaning we are exposed to different areas of the business at lowest granular level. As a data steward and an owner of various databases my primary responsibility is to execution the Business Intelligence strategy and vision and managing the tactical operations of the Business Intelligence team. I am responsible for all strategic, tactical, operational, financial and technical resource managerial responsibilities associated various Business Intelligence segments.

Great exposure to current insurance legislation

Employees are way underpaid especially if you are in a supporting/ technical role. As part of the Market Conduct team, I am exposed to all facets of customer service. This includes reviewing complaints frameworks and doing due diligence on new business to ensure that they meet our minimum requirements. My daily tasks include systems maintenence, complaints queries received on all mediums and ensuring a prompt resolution is reached withing the expected timelines. This is merely just a high level overview.
