I working at Groote Schuur Hospital as a volunteer (Admin Clerk). My typical day at work was when I I have a great relationship with my co-workers we understand each other very well and when we have disagreements we sort it out as soon as possible. I have learned that when you work in a team, that team work is very important and what this job just build my confidence every day. What I enjoy the most is that I'm working in a lovely environment and with the best co-workers ever. We can laugh and make jokes but we take our work very serious. What the most challenging aspects is that I'm working with the patients information and we work on a data base system so I have to concentrate on my work to type all the information in right because the doctors and nursing staff work from that information.

Pros: I can always work myself up from the bottom, I'm a very fast learner
Cons: I'm willing to work 12 hours a day, weekends and public holidays if I have to

Understanding different people better

Working with patients is such a wonderful experience, rendering service that is at the utmost interest of the patients. Most challenging aspects is to work under pressure handling telephone and attending the patient at the same time requires critical skills. Long processes or procedures may delay the service. I have gain more knowledge dealing with different people learning how important it is to give patient care and the results of doing so

As Contract Employee

Being a hardworking, determined individual, I have an ability to work in any emotional condition in your institution. I enjoyed being a part of the health institution as it gave me lot of experience in patient care. Render support to nursing staff regarding patient flow, education of patient’s rights and information about clinics. The environment was excellent due to fact that, were working as team.

Good working enviroment

I enjoy working for the department and I am learning a lot and I have a good relationship with my co-workers. the most challenging aspect is to have a load of work everyday and I learn Integrated procurement system which I never work in supply chain in the short period of time I learn a lot for the job and the importance of supply chain management department.

Home base nurse

Iim hard working skill full can take care of pasients nursing is one of my strong points. I got a passion for nursing. Willing to learn from others and to teach others im punctual neat and strive to do my best. Willing to go that extra mile. Got my certificates friendly

Excellent learning curve

Loved volunteering here.Reasons being fast paced working environment.Co workers are wonderful people we work well individually as well as in a team.Ive learnt quickly how their filing system works as well as their computer folder tracking system works.Most challenging would be is to track a folder.

Excellent learning curve

There are no guarantees for employment . It is busy enough to see what potential problems can occur. Stuff is generally friendly Long hours Challenges have to be language barriers: most screening tests are in English so there’s a lot of translations that have to be done
