No Challenge is to difficult to overcome

I am 30 years in the manufacturing of tires industry. During that time i have empowered myself and has been working in all production related departments. I had a 3 year stint in the planning department which provided me with invaluable experience. I have been a production supervisor (Foreman), departmental Manager, Shift production Manager and also a 6 month stint in the Industrial engineering department.

Pros: Training orientated
Cons: Negativity of some of the workers

Hard work

Extremely busy throughout the day,dont take lunch or coffee breaks,from the moment o get into work switch on my laptop its business and on the go.I dont work weekends and are not paid for overtime but need to be available all the time including taking my laptop in the car wherever i go. I work longer hours than the rest as i dont like work standing over to the next day.People al well mannered,professional in all they do.Currently the go to person in Logistcs for all SAP related ,testing related and all warehouse,transport en storage related issues

Pros: Learning alot from my manager and he includes me in all his decisions as well
Cons: Long hours

Retreads

a day is spent on things not benefiting original job description, yet results are required on original job description. workers generally have good working relationship. a lesson was learnt on retreads. i enjoy to be given a chance to hunt for clients as my original job description. the worst aspect of the job is to go and collect casings due to lack of drivers.

Pros: no growth opportunity
Cons: no reward no matter how hard you work.

Plc troubleshooting

I am in charge of my shift, i am able to fault find with or without drawings.I can troubleshoot,i keep the plant running.when I get bigger problem, the more i get to know my machines.I enjoy short circuit breakdowns.relationship is pleasing, when we seem not to get right with the job,

Suppliers view of the logistics process

the most interesting parts of my position is the view of the supplier and the processes and efforts needed to close a deal. I managed to negotiate different deals that meet the customers goals , be it to generate profit from none traditional channels or reduce the customers spend VS budget.

Pros: Meet the movers and shakers of the industry and see the inner working of the fleet industry.
Cons: Limited prospects in current postion
