FOREIGN INTERNATIONALS AND WORKING WITH THEM

I enjoy my job as Debtors Clerk and working for Golden Crust is an absolute pleasure. The only thing that I am not happy about is earning less than what I am used to earning. I love the challenges, I love working with the staff daily. The most challenging aspects of the job is collecting from my cash customers daily. I am handling the SPAR, USAVE accounts and also the cash paying customers who are Ehiopian's and Somalians. The problem is not getting the money as much but the language barrier. I have now built a very good relationship with my clients and enjoy working with them. I love interacting with people and get on well with my piers and colleagues. I would like to work for a company who can offer me scope for growth.

Pros: There is no scope for growth here
Cons: I have to work every alternate Saturday and my job does not end until after 10 at night as I leiaze with my clients after hours from home as well.

Learning to work with people from different cultural groups

I enjoy working in a fast paced Organization. I enjoy my job completely because I liase daily with customers from all walks of life. The challenge is to understand the "Foreign" clients I work with daily as they are all Somalians and Ethiopians. My job is to collect cash accounts 3 - 7 day accounts & 15-30 day accounts. I love what I'm doing, I love my co workers and get on well with them but the only problem I have is working 7 days a week. In the bakery Industry and being responsible for cash collections daily, I have to work 7 days be on standby making decisions if customers can receive bread and following up on their unpaid daily Invoice until late at night. I also have to work alternate public holidays and I feel its way to hectic to work 7 days per week.

Pros: there is an oppertunity for promotion yes but you have to prove yourself in many ways
Cons: Long working hours, Public holidays and weekend work

How to deal with customers and how to do invoices and bookings.

I learned how to do invoices, booking of craits,crait controller and truck assistant. I learned how to work with money how to deal with customers and also have customer service I.'ve worked with this company many years and gained a lot of experience at this company.

Pros: Breads where promoted at different companies
Cons: Sort working hours which were from 7:00 am till 2:00 pm

Learning to work with people from different cultural groups

I have a hectic schedule starting at 6.30 am until 16h30 following up on outstanding payments, Invoicing, Capturing Cash sheets, Capturing Cash bank from bank statements every day, doing account recons, follow up on dispatchers sheets, following up on customers prices if charged correct. I work well with my colleagues and get on well with all my clients. My only issue is someteimes to liase with my foreign clients but I enjoy learning their culture.

Cons: Long working hours, Public holidays and weekend work

WHO I AM

I enjoy working with people from different cultural groups. I converse professionally on any level and love spending my day focusing on tasks at hand.

Pros: There is no scope for growth here
Cons: I dont mind working long hours but I can never take my time off and I do not get paid any over time.

A new enjoyable experience for me

I follow a very hands on hectic schedule daily. Collecting from cash customers daily can be very challenging because of the language barriers but I enjoy it immensely.

Pros: Meeting new people from different cultures
Cons: Long working hours, Public holidays and weekend work
