Working at Gold Fields is tough but a great learning curve as well. It is a whole new world with so much pressure, conflict and hard work. A normal working day would be bombarded with meetings, recruitment, interviews, salary issues, safety incidents, safety meetings etc.This is one of those environments where you have to be not only book smart but streetwise as well. It is a hostile environment where it's killer be killed/trample or be trampled over.Everyday it’s a rush and everything is important. Frustration rushes blood pressure to the max but payday causes everyone to have a smile on their faces.Great opportunity to learn a lot about different people and different cultures, understanding their backgrounds, how they work, what their methods are and how they view life. It becomes so bad at times where there is hardly no work-life balance. Small departments enjoy their work to the max because they receive individual attention and are able to monitor their processes.

Excellent learner,teamplayer,hard worker and honest
I bring dedication ,honesty and hardwork ,I really can work under pressure ,I am a team player and daily to get along with. I am will to learn ,I enjoy a challenge ,I worked with dogs for long time ,but I am still learning and willing to learn more, I the most challenging aspect of the job we do is keeping with the times,to be two steps ahead of criminals and they minds ,even technology be to the best at asset protection,to thrive in excellence and be the leading company in the world.

Experience
Working at South Deep was a dream because u got to be part of a great team that maintained and repaired breakdowns so that mining and production could flow. On ordinary working day we would build a good team and discuss safety. The most challenging aspects is when u would work under pressure and be able to reach target.

Hard worker and quick learner
Capturing of invoices, reconciliation of accounts, requesting statements from customers, following up on 60 days invoices, liaise with our cost accountants for contract involves, liaise with our warehouse clerk for goods to be received on the system.
Pros: It teaches one how to work under pressure and coping with a lot of work

Experience
I have learned allot when it comes to team work,not working under supervision, being completed and also working under pressure.and the most challenging thing is working underground and in the hot conditions but still managing to do the job given and come alright with it.

Job Satisfaction
Controlled the financial function of various shafts. A typical day consisted of checking if the stores had sufficient stock, checking that units were within budget, doing variance analysis, and reconciling contractor accounts and authorising payment of these accounts, all ensuring that production not adversely affected. Relationships with all co-workers was excellent and I was frequently required to do on the job training of financial staff. Being in a production environment under pressure taught me to make decisions and carry them out. Also with the internal reporting accuracy of reports and calculations was extremely important. I enjoyed the reporting and evaluation of potential mining areas. The most challenging part of the job was the balancing of requirements for materials and labour for the production process and the allowed budget. ad

Application for position
I am working as a senior production supervisor at AGA ( Anglo Gold Ashanti ), we are currently mining from 120 to 126 level , The challenge is extremely challenging and full of obstacles that makes it so much more exciting to see where my strong and weak points are to make improvements and carry or share my experience and knowledge , ,I do enjoy my work as to be part of a group of individual s that achieve an achievement and over come those obstacles to proof that where ever you set your mind on , that's adcheivable

Good
