-Report to the Engineering Manager; By Providing the technical report on daily, weekly and monthly with regards to plant availability -Ensure compliance with the maintenance programme for the defined operational area. -Ensure the improvement and proper maintenance of equipment and infrastructure to ensure maximum plant availability. -Assist with solving problems by initiating, developing and/or implementing alternatives or improvements to the equipment within the sphere of responsibility, in line with company quality principles. -Facilitate quality meetings and programmes to empower all within the department to voice their own ideas and allow creativity, to ensure process optimization and plant availability. -Revise and communicate standard procedures through training sessions and "in-task" training.

12 years experience in mineral processing environment

I communicating very well with all my co workers, they listen to me because I am not only directing them but also leading them by example. I have develop excellent skills in processing of minerals. process flow, managing of +- 20 staff. I enjoy working for my company, I believe in my company, they are really looking out for their employees. the most challenging aspect of my job is to not communicate with my staff members, communication is the utmost importance , like example if one of my staff members are not feeling well due to the fact that someone is not well at his or her house, they do not concentrate on the job because they are constantly thinking back home. and that can endanger his or her life by doing something unsafe.

Pros: want to became a foreman on my plant
Cons: standby on three plants at ones

A day at glencore

To work at Glencore does have its benefits regarding medical, provident fund and promotions in the future. Although one should drive each day an hour towards work and one hour back. The mining industry is a very hard environment to work in.

It has shaped my career growth

I over see the plant process and delegate jobs to my team. Ensure we meet the shift target in trems of production and the spec of our product. Safety is our number one objective in terms of running our plant thus i make sure its adhered to at all times. I work great with a team and believe when you invest in them you will achieve good results.

I can deliver under pressure.

Ensuring that the plant runs smooth and constantly keeping the operators on their toes to make sure their sections are running well. Monitor that the spec we get from d lab is up to standard. I have learnt that you have to know how to deal with different characters of people you work with in order to know how to handle them.

It's a good company to work on.....

Actually it's an okay company to work on..when coming to money and benefits I think it's the lowest cause if bonuses you hardly know where it went.when coming to development it's worse cause some of us we didn't go to school to stay on one position for years without any progress. Overall the people are excellent to work with and always helpful that's why we over see the issue of money cause you feel at home
