Arranging/ and coordinating a team conference for staff members based around the globe
Check my managers calendar for the day according to his availability. Checking pf stationery in the office, boardroom, Tele presence meetings and staff calls for manager. I manage team of about 45 people based in different countries, i will respond or assist in any quires they have in the day to day of work (assisting with arranging for Letters of invites,expenses,flights etc.) I have a great relationship with my co- workers. I learnt to treat everyone the same irrespective of who they are. I enjoy working with people from different background and cultures. The most challenging aspects of my job is only 1 person in the team is tasked for the role even you leave or sick you will expected to perform your duties as usual.
Pros: The company has great growth for opportunities since we are service the most African countries utilities as its a need in the continent at the moment.
Cons: Required to put in lots of hours and work remotely if required

Good platform for learning.
- GE is a dynamic company with new learning every day. At GE employees are very competitive and the company encourages workers to think on their feet and there is no comfort zone. Because we work in a global environment with offices all over the work, there is an indulgence of information and an opportunity to interact with different cultures daily. - Co-workers at GE are friendly although they are always busy, they do manage to let their hair down occasionally. - I have learned to be confident and to broaden up my thinking. I have also learned that there is no space for mediocrity at GE - I enjoy conversation about different markets analysis and to learn how different economies influence our decisions and our revenues. Quarter-ends are challenging most especially when the targets are not reached

Every day is a learning curve.
I'm leading the Sourcing for Sub-Saharan Africa. My responsibilities includes, ensuring quicker turnaround time of the customer needs, ensure smooth flow of material, right quality, right quantity, right place, right time at a competitive price. I support the field service team by ensuring smooth flow of material for outages, Profit and Loss by ensuring that we paying market related prices and stay within the budget, Commercial Operation supporting the tendering process by obtaining competitive quotes, Supply Chain by ensuring that we spent with BBBEE complaint supplier and support Localization initiatives, Accounts Payable by ensuring that goods are receipted on time and suppliers are paid on time, Stategic Sourcing by formulating the functional strategy, putting Master Service Agreement in place and lastly report on the functional cost saving, Supplier Quality by working closely with the team and ensuring that all suppliers used are commercially assessed and Supplier capabilities.
Pros: Customer comes first and running the function like your mini business

Great learning curve, decision-making and responsibility and authority
- A typical work day is to be always ready for anything and everything to react promptly and do everything possible to minimize hazards and impacts. - My relationship with co-workers is very good, we all understand the objectives and targets that need to be met. - What I have learnt is everything I now know on EHS, which was a new area of responsibility. - What I enjoy most is achieving the company targets and objectives, creating a conducive work environment for employees to work safely. - The most challenging aspects of the job is to change mindsets towards improvement initiatives.
Pros: unpredictable environment which forces one to be able to take decisions on the spot in order to solve or mitigate problems, and not every incident similar as the previous one, thus providing lots of room for learning and knowing how to deal with those situations
Cons: to be reachable 24 hours for in case of emergency

The daily activities while working as a Project Procurement and Logistics Manager
A normal day as a PPLM would involve interacting with colleagues, suppliers and site project team. What I've learnt is that, it's important to rely on the team effort while trying achieve the project deliverable. Dealing with supplier daily was huge part of my work as it involved negotiating contracts, seeking clarity on the contracts and holding suppliers accountable to their deliverable. I used to enjoy seeing the impact of my work on the project.
Pros: Getting more exposure to the huge network that the company has. Adjusting to new systems and procedures of doing work the GE way.
Cons: Tight deadlines was order of the day. Accuracy of the results was always a demand.

Opportunity to support 4 GM of the business an their teams who all over the globe
Check calender's of 4 executive accept visitors for meeting. Ensure the meeting rooms are set refreshments, conference call or video call are set meeting pack are ready. Support any office quires in the office or from the whole team and resolve accordingly. I have a good relationship with my co-workers. I have leaned if you work as a team we will always deliver good results for the company. Welcoming guests and interacting with them. Waiting for information from someone and it has been delayed due to different time zones, bad connection from working on site etc.
Pros: Multicultural, flexible hours, promotions opportunities
Cons: Long hour towards quarter close
