Good workmanship and learning,learn something new everyday.

Each work day is a busy one,if no services are due then there breakdowns to attend,or repairs on a machine that not running. Relationship with co-workers is excellent as i get along with everyone easily,making friends is not a problem at work. I came to the company not knowing much about engineering,the years I've been here have been great,I've learnt a lot from artisans with experience since they share their knowledge and learn from breakdowns as well due to under pressure to get machine back in production. I enjoy doing breakdowns as its always something different,always have to come up with new ideas in the quickest times,time is money,the more time machine is down the more money we lose as a company,that includes everyone. Most challenging aspects on the job is to find the route cause of the initial breakdown,that takes bit more time,do the hardest first,the impossible takes a little more time.

Pros: Depends who you are is what you'll get.
Cons: Have to keep job with little pay as its hard out there to get the job you want with the right pay,the saying goes "take it or leave it".

More based in HR

I'm a hard working person, I love working as a team. What I was doing was dealing with people each and every day, my challenge aspects was that dealing with people each and every day its not a child game but I was keeping calm and try not to be hard on them. The job that I was doing each and every day was based on the HR because I was dealing with the employees who want to take leaves,who want to change their personal details.

Great company

The company has a great working environment with excellent employees.The company is constantly training and empowering the employees.Managers are very helpful and understanding.

Excellent learning curve

We are a very busy company that imports fabric from China to SA and export our fabric to neighboring countries. We pride ourselves in our own manufactured fabric which is technically engineered e.g Medical, Industrial, Aeronautical and Protective fabric

Pros: Great opportunity for studying

Life at Gelvenor

Gelvenor Textiles The typical work day at Gelvenor is nothing short of a roller coaster ride in the dark. You never know what's coming next. Either its going to take your breath away or have you holding on for dear life. Luckily on the back foot of that one can rely on their coworkers for help and support. You can really fall in love with the culture of the ladies and gents around the factory. Not the management thought. They are just too headstrong. I love the atmosphere the people of Gelvenor bring with them.

Cons: Salaries not paid on time. Often not knowing if we would be paid.

Excellent learning experience provided by the company

I had experienced a great opportunity and learning experience at gelvenor textiles. I have achieved many goals working at gelvenor yet I have always wanted to boarden my skills by moving to another industry

I am a hard worker

I am a clerk in dispatch. Get along with every one. I have learn to be patiant. Am a hard worker able to work in groups and individual and love to learn new things. I respect my self and others.
