Intresting learning curve , experianced starting up a company and its chalenges.

Its a new company trying to find its feet so with my working experience i have to be involved in a lot of activities such as subcontracting, payroll , IT and Advisory. It can be challenging because as much as you do have a job description you sometimes have to do beyond your scope and also be accountable for the outcome of that activity beyond your scope, The challenge is also the co workers are mostly interns people with no working experience. I am required to train them on professional conduct and processing of a working environment because there is no proper induction been conducted. The company is private owned and policies and procedures are still being created and amended and borrowed from other companies. Training , sharing and collaboration of these policies is still a challenge.

Pros: This is the highest position , until the company expands than i can be a financial manager.
Cons: I have never worked in a traing and development industry before , i have leaned alot about this industry and the SETA's that it works with.

I am a positive candidate and a critical thinker who can work very well under pressure.

I have been in the administration field for over 3 years now. I believe I am well equipped with the knowledge that is required to master the administrator role. As communications student I believe that I have great communications skills. I am well-spoken and a good listener which is a great tool on its own. I work well under pressure, I discovered that while I was still in retail. Being in retail helped me to equip myself with working faster and thinking on my feet. There are a lot of ventures to explore and I’m willing to explore.

Excellent Work orientated, productive and able to develop work to minimize costs

Working for Gateway City College as a Project Coordinator. Responsible for the Coordination of learnership programmes under different SETAs (Services SETA, LGSETA, AgriSETA etc.). Liaising with different Project stakeholders, controlling, organizing and planning project implementation. Compiling reports and ensuring compliance with the necessary SAQA unit standards, preparing venues, training material, Facilitators and payment for all service providers. Provided technical support to Facilitators and Learners, responsible for developing job specifications for Facilitators, Assessors and Moderators.Worked as a Public Relations Assistant & Events Coordinator at Izaka plastic for 9 months and as an Event Coordinator. Coordinated Events under a SMME (Vezubuhle Events & Communication) from Business Fair, Business Breakfast, events by Municipality and NGOs. Responsible for translating and interpreting information and assist in coordinating staff training and workshop.

Pros: Fast learner, ability to develop work, meeting deadlines
Cons: Work long hours, committed ,work orientated

Broad exposure and responsibilities

Gateway has provided for me immense opportunities to exercise oversight on various teams in cross-functional fields. I have worked in field projects overseeing implementation of grant training projects. I have also led efforts to raise funding for training initiatives for Gateway and for our partners through our consultancy division. I have enjoyed the exposure, the whole process of building systems, building teams and overseeing quality management. There is hardly ever a dull moment as we are constantly chasing after the next project, managing current projects and closing out others. I have had the privilege of sitting under the mentorship of a patient and willing mentor and this has given me a holistic learning experience. I am however very dynamic and looking to pursue my next challenge in life with a more aggressive and forward looking organisation.

I have learnt to be self disciplined. And to always be on time to meet the deadline

I have worked with too friendly people. My colleagues were very easy to work with. I have worked with different Seta's, it was not easy but as the time went by i started to enjoy engaging with them. I was always on top of my work.

Pros: Great opportunity for experience and having more knowlwdge
Cons: Long hours of work and get paid so little

Good learning curve

Typical work day is Friday where i have to deliver the report for the whole week and make sure that everything is up to date for the following week,well it not typical because i can not do all that but it kind of a work overload. We have a good relationship with co-workers and we had learn a lot but most of all i learned how to prioritize my work and time. I enjoy every moment of my work

Excellent in working underpressure

i like working underpressure and to learn more about work, iam doing filling an caling suppliers for monthly statements, also capturing bank to pastel and invoices to pastel, i have a good relationship with my collegues and a good way of communication verbally an written. i have learnt a lot of things in this company i came as an intern knowing nothing about ways of communication and dress code but now i know, i enjoy working with written note(theory) than apply my practical in pen an paper, i have challenges in working with numbers sometimes but i am a fast learner through the practising
