Learning curve

Typical day at work involves interacting with listeners, being out in the field conducting interviews and coming back to write a story on it is what I enjoy the most about my job. My colleagues and I have a good understanding of each other, respect each others spaces. The most challenging part is meeting hourly deadlines, which can be a bit daunting, but worth it at times.

Pros: Great place to build your brand.
Cons: Underpaid.

Great Learning Curve

• Online Reporting • News Anchoring • Compiling Bulletins • Conducting Live Crossings • Recording Voice Overs • Creating Audio projects • News Packages • Feature Packages • Research • Field reporting • interviewing people in a wide range of circumstances • building contacts and sources for use in future stories I report to an Editor and in some instances the news manager. I'm required to mentor other staff and help them. Identify clients for the station and send them to sales department.

Pros: It's a job.
Cons: Too much pressure, company verbally appreciates you but never show it when it's hiring or in promotion opportunities
