I am selling different types of services ranging from Water treatment , Tailings Management , Construction , Bulk Material Movement and Mineral Processing . I am constantly in touch with clients and visiting clients . Apart from that I conduct various analysis such as Market analysis , competition etc The biggest challenge is dealing with West African countries where there are language barriers , and the conditions when travelling to countries with threats related to terror

Great

Overview

A typical workday is normally packed with various activities associated with different stages of the pipeline process. In terms of interpersonal communication, I have the confidence to communicate with colleagues at all levels and I'm able to consider and analyze different opinions. I have developed a high level of integrity during my career and to this effect; I am good at persuading others by creating relationships based on mutual trust and understanding. This helps to some extend to ensure that inputs from various parties are received in time as to not compromise the tender submission deadline - often the most challenging aspect of the job.

- Planning and management of site work - Pats ordering, Workshop control - Reporting of progress to OPS manager - All availability and utilisation of plant, and Plant revenue - Ensuring that all relevant safety standards are met - Managing all plant, labour and materials - Ensuring quality control is met - Management of sub-contractors

Finance Manager experience gained over the last 18 Years

Role; Responsible for the full accounting function, analyze revenue and costs compared against approved budgeted results. Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives. Liaise with the auditors and identify possible risks. Review cost saving activities. Manage the preparation of the company’s budget and develop and implement policies and procedures. My expertise is as follows; - Audits. - Prepare and consolidate budgets and forecasts. - Detailed understanding of accounting processes and systems. My achievements; - No audit findings for the last 10 years, identifying financial risks and implementing specific ways to mitigate these risks. - Develop and implement a Finance Library of Standards and user training manuals. - Implementing effective systems of internal control and reviewing the performance against the approved policies. - Develop and standardize on and off system process flows for the SAGE X3 system.

Great work experience

My mandate when joining the company was to design, develop and implement a new Learning & Development department. I was given an opportunity to run with the entire business case. I did thorough AS-IS nalysis , that gave me a comprehensive picture of the TO-BE structure and operating model. I leant about the company within a shortspace of time. I have a very supportive HR Executive that believed in my potential. I have learnt on the pros and cons of starting a department. I had to design the structure from scratch, the job profiles, competencies, policies and procedures of the department. I have a good relationship with all my stakeholders. I am a strategic person. this role has allowed me to think outside the box. What is exciting, however can be viewd as challeging is that one faces different challenges on a daily basis, this can be easily overcome if good relationships with stakeholders are built.

Cons: resistance to change by some stakeholders

Great experience

Working @such a company afforded one exposure to various coal processing machinery and also interacting with people of different personalities.you get to learn or develop a skill of dealing with different personalities,you also learn tolerance.i would say working in such environment was very helpful.my job came with it's own demands and pressure.i had to adapt to the conditions it presented.plant availability was thee most important requirement of my job,but it was not achieved by compromising safety.

Pros: Great experience and exposure
Cons: Having to attend breakdowns at night.
