Ex

Typical workday includes measuring progress and performance, updating on excel, prepare for meetings, general admin. I adore my co-workers but stay out of office politics. I gained a lot of experience in all MS Office programs, learned a lot of people skills and learned a lot about admin, meetings and construction. I enjoy working with computer programs the most. The most challenging aspects of my job is getting everything done in times.

Carl's review

Fluor is a great company to work for. However, continuous employment in the current market is very challenging and therefore also the opportunity to be promoted is slim. Fluor will do everything possible to accommodate an employee on a next assignment and demobilization is always considered as last way out.

Pros: Highly skilled team with of the highest integrity in the industry
Cons: No continuous employment as full time contractor

Willing to learn

Bank administrator, responsibilities include opening new bank accounts, adding and removing signatories and ensuring timely release of our payment. Preparing and filling of VAT returns for entities in South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique. Preparing and submitting PAYE returns for the Botswana employees. Setting up employee vendor accounts.

Cons: Team member not willing to assist

Growth is crucial

Fluor is a fortune 500 company. We have an excellent company profile and reputation. Fluor has specialized systems and procedures in place that provides a good workflow. I like it here, however, I need new horizons.

Pros: Good Experience
Cons: Haven't been career fast tracked and groomed for promotions, due to being good at what I do.

Need exposure to growth opportunities, would like to further my career in the Marketing Field

Fluor, a FORTUNE 500 company operating in 66 countries across 6 continents. Fluor also named as a 2014 World’s Most Ethical Company. It is a team orientated company as we work together on projects. I have recently moved to the corporate side away from project management. Although it has been an excellent learning curve there is no growth potential in my current role. I have been exposed to the company process from bidding, through project maintenance, up to end of the job. I enjoy being busy and challenged to grow, at the moment I don't experience that.

Pros: We work 8.5 hours a day and get 1 day a month off.
Cons: No further growth

An Excellent Growth experience

I worked with an incredible leader who gave us the opportunity to take the lead on something and run with it. In times of crisis we all rallied around and sought a solution together. I was given opportunity to work on things outside my scope, thus affording the the experience in various aspects within procurement/supply chain

I have excellent business ethics and follow business protocols.

I have over 20 years of experience in Contracts, Procurement and Quantity Surveying. My experience includes developing a commercial and technical business strategies for local and international procurement of goods and services, compiling and issuing of tender documents, chairing pre-bid, post bid and progress meetings, Evaluation of tenders, submitting recommendations to the board for award, processing purchase orders, compiling and issuing of contractual documentation, monitoring progress and providing feedback to the business. Approving payment certificates and closing out of orders.

Pros: Excellent company to work with, has all procedures in place, very friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Multi discipline activities required , not enough time to complete activities on time

Employment Culture

I’ve definitely learnt how to thrive under pressure at my current place of employment. Being in a fast paced environment, where demands are spontaneous and immediate, you’ve got to adopt a very innovative mindset and I’d like to think that I’ve accomplished that. I have a brilliant relationship with my co-workers and superiors, strictly professional and business related but we are a relatively healthy team
