Excellent Learning Curve

Logistics/Supply Chain is my passion,there is no day that's similar,each day is a challenge.Working at FLSmidth I work very closely with the Senior Project Managers,coordinating each order placed.Driving suppliers to deliver on time,monitoring their progress, comparing their final orders with the drawings given to them.My pride and joy is liaising with the customers,coordinating deliveries for them making sure that they are able to receive the number of trucks/containers per day as we track the fleet in transit to site.There has been no day that has goes by at FLSmidth that I haven't learnt something new.In the past 3.5 years I have been at FLSmidth I have learnt more then what I have learnt in my entire Logistics career.I've been on site,been on trucks,been in warehouses,I am a hands on kind of person and love to get involved to know more.To understand each step,each process having a much more clear understanding from the start to the very end is what I strive for,understanding the FULL Supply Chain.

Pros: Wide range of experience to gain
Cons: Market is currently down and there's very little work out there

Good opportunity to study further

Have good working relationship with con workers especially those involved in the projects side. Have learnt that not everyone has the same views and compromise and objectivity are not always a bad thing. I enjoyed the challenge each and every project had, and the people who helped over come each challenge.

Pros: Great learning environment with different projects
Cons: No room for promotion

To be able to communicate with different people in different languages

The management only look after themselves forgetting important things like empowering their employees education like increasing their knowledge about the trade industry employees are involved in.

Pros: Gaining certificate such as forklift operator
Cons: Forced to work on lunch breaks

Traveling to different mines and engaging with different people

It's an international company, it doesn't really consider employees on the grass roots for development like promotions and self empowerment like sending an employee to further their education. NO GROWTH AT ALL

Traveling and learning how to connect with different kinds of people in the industry.... I enjoyed to be on site when we were doing pumps installations

Pros: I intend to be available when ever/where ever I'm needed
