Journey of becoming an artisan

started working at Fischer as a mill operator.which I was making stainless steel tubes.then I applied for a apprenticeship in the company since I saw an opportunity to uplift my self in my career.then I was taken to study at necsa for millwright artisan.I did my on job at Fischer after my training for 3 years then completed my course on February 2019.then I was appointed as millwright artisan in March 2019.I work shifts night and day to maintain breakdowns and do planned maintenance.I work along with a team of 4 millwright artisan and 3 apprentice, welder and fitter and turner.we report to a maintance manger. I have great respect for operators that makes production because as an artisan we learn much from them since they are the ones who uses machines at all times and they know most problems that are happening in daily basis.what really excites me in my job is when I find the problem when doing fault finding.

Pros: There's no opportunity of promotion
Cons: I worked for 5 years for the company but only a year as qualified millwright

It a job - NO MOTIVATION

When I started it here it was all new and exciting as al new experience are. But for the last couple of years there is no motivation and the work is monotonous. Although I have gained a lot of experience I feel stuck in the same place.

Pros: Experience
Cons: Too far from home. Monotonous.

I consider myself to be a hardworking individual with an eye for detail. 

My experience includes: working on Navision currently opening and closing job cards for manufacturing, data capturing, calculation of journal output and consumptions, stock taking as well as purchase orders among others.  I have also gained experience in office management, customer liaison and reception.

Pros: Educational
Cons: Far from home
