Hello I'm was working in Zambia for First Quantum Minerals, Kansanshi mine as a Senior Supervisor Instrumentation on the crushing, Milling and Flotation departments. I’m a hands-on supervisor that likes to get dirty from time to time. I have vast experience on control systems and process control applications with PLC, remote I/O and human interface modules. I have extensively worked with profi-bus PA/DP, Ethernet and recently started with profi-net communication networks. Kansanshi is one of the biggest control systems in the world and I have the privilege to work and maintain and optimize the control system to improve recoveries. I have 25 years’ experience in different industrial environments from water purification, pulp and paper, mineral processing, mining, sales and manufacturing. I'm looking for some opportunities that could be available in Plant/Maintenance Supervision. My home base in George South Africa but relocation is possible if needed.

Good experience

the environment is very good and easily adaptable have learnt a lot regarding the technology behind mining construction.i enjoy doing the take off mostly because i get exposed to certain trades like electrical engineering,instrumentation and mechanical .

Heavy equipment Repair/Diesel mechanic.

Jasonkalumbu@gmailfirst quantum minerals sentinel open pit mine KALUMBILA zambia . Currently is were am working as heavy equipment Repair /Diesel mechanic.

Pros: My duties, safety Is a priority number one, maintain good housekeeping all the time,avoid oil sipllage, Replace and repair worn parts,Repair Large Engines brand Cummins, MTU ,komatsu and Volvo penta.repair and trouble shooting basic electrical systems, Repair and trouble shooting hydraulic system,repair and trouble shooting Engine system.

Its been a good organization

there has been a good relationship with my co-workers under every typical shift of a day. i have learnt a lot by working with different people in various environment e.g. how to handle pressure and to adhere to safety standards. i enjoy operating big machines and the challenging thing is the environment. this includes dusty and the condition of equipment.

Excellent working environment

on a typical work day i will be on site taking measurements of the jobs to be worked on, obviously i will need a colleague to help me with all the work on site and that's where i get to interact more with my fellow workers. from them i have picked up a lot owing to the fact that they have quite a number of years working in the mining industry. i enjoy the moment am given a new task to carry out as i get to test my skills for the job and all that i have picked up along my time at the mining firm. challenging aspect of the job is when you are dealing with someone who doesn't want to follow standards of working. its very important to follow standards in draughting.

I have learned a lot of new things like shares and various currencies and translation

I have a very good working relationship with my co-workers. A typical work day involves dealing with employees from the different departments depending on the time of month, for example, when preparing for Payroll.

Pros: Various tasks on a daily basis, no dull moment
Cons: No room for career development as the company is a small company
